After what seems to be thirty minutes, the car finally stops.
Matthew drops from his seat and rushes to us, Wilson already went inside the building we stopped in front of.
"Boy, can you carry her inside?" he asks Elias.
Elias nods and drops from the car, carrying me and walks to the building.
"Over here!" Wilson shouts as soon as Elias steps inside, it's warm here and there is a strong smell, several shouts and rushing footsteps along with whines and cries.
We are in a clinic.
Elias walks over to him and places me on what feels like a bed, I open my eyes just a little and see Wilson stepping out, then pulling what seems like a curtain around us, giving us a small closed space with two beds.
Elias is about to walk to the other bed but I tug his jacket and stop him, he turns and sits on the side of my bed and leans close, I whisper in his ear "a nurse will probably come to bandage us both, she will pull my dress down where I'm injured" fortunately I'm wearing a thin tank top under it. I sit up a little, then take out the two knives from my sleeves, and the one from the hem of my dress and hand them to Elias "for now, hide them in your jacket" he won't have to take it off, lifting his shirt can expose his injury just enough.
He nods and takes the three knives from me, placing them next to his own "so this is what humans clinic looks like" he whispers.
I look through the small line of space the curtains didn't cover, it's probably like our own in size, which is nothing but a room full of beds and several elites who volunteered to use their magic for healing vampires with deep wounds faster, but this one is full of cabinets and bottles with labels I don't really understand but from the smell earlier and what mother told me I think they are called medicines.
I have to say, the curtains are a good addition to give privacy for each patient and judging from what I hear I guess there are many.
"Go, and remember don't heal your wound" I whisper. He nods then stands up. I lay back and close my eyes. Moments later, I hear someone opens the curtain before I feel a hand on my wound "it's not deep thankfully she won't need stitches, the poor girl must have been frightened to the core that she fainted. Can you take care of the other there?" A woman's voice says and it sounds...familiar.
"Yes doctor" a man's voice responds.
"Breathing rate is a bit slow" she says before I feel something cold and metallic on my chest "heart rate is normal" then I hear a bottle being opened followed by a strong scent. "Here it goes" the woman says before squeezing a wet cotton inside my nostrils, the liquid makes its way down my windpipe with a cold- burning sensation and I can't help but sit up and cough forcefully, what on earth is that?
"You're okay, you're okay" the woman says as she places a hand on my back "sorry about that but it's one of quickest ways to wake someone"
I open my eyes and look at her, recognition renders me stunned for a moment.
"Agatha?" I whisper, she has a black hair like my mother but shorter, pulled up with a hair clip and she is wearing what I assume are called glasses, and a white coat.
She is silent for a second then raises a hand to cover her mouth, suppressing a gasp "Sylvia? Is that you?" She asks quietly
"Everything okay with you?" The man who started bandaging Elias asks
"Yes thank you!" Agatha responds "we will talk later" she whispers as she unzips my dress, the tank top is ripped now but at least the upper part of my chest is covered.
She starts cleaning the wound, wiping the blood with a wet gauze and it stings like fire, damn is that how humans treat their wounds?
"It's a disinfectant, endure it please" Agatha says as she cuts a piece of bandage then starts wrapping it around my wound, covering my chest completely.
"Can you heal?" She asks as she zips up my dress.
"Yes, but it will take days"
"What got you injured boy? Did you get lost? You look too young to join the hunting groups" the man asks Elias and I flinch.
"Yes, we were taking a stroll and we didn't realize we have gone too far until a werewolf suddenly appeared and attacked us. Fortunately some people heard our screams and interfered, giving us time to run" he closes his eyes and says in a sad tone "I hope they didn't die"
I blink, this is way better than the story I made up earlier and what's with that act? I almost believed him.
The man studies Elias "I hope that too, even if the odds are against it" the man's eyes narrow at us "be careful the next time you two go out on a date"
I'm trying my best to mask any expression of disgust as Elias nods.
"You can go now Sam, I'll take care of the rest, thank you" Agatha says to him.
Sam nods at her, gives us a last stare then leaves, closing the curtain behind him.
"Who is that Sylvia?" She asks, observing Elias who is glaring at her.
"Elias, it's a long story but he is with me in this" I lay back on the bed, my wound is burning from whatever she used to clean it.
"Hmmm, although both of you having each other's initial as a tattoo says more, but I won't prey" she grins as she looks at the S crimson letter on Elias' neck, pretty sure she also saw the E letter when she treated my wound.
"Mind your business human" Elias snaps.
"So you're not a human too?" Agatha mocks and Elias sits up, fear fills his eyes as he registers what he just said.
"Relax" I say without looking at him "she is my mother's sister, the one father mentioned before we left, and don't say human again, we are supposed to be one of them" I whisper shout.
Elias' shoulders relax a bit but his voice has a hint of disgust when he says "you're Agatha huh?"
"Nice to meet you too" Agatha glares then shifts her gaze to me "you two rest here until I'm done with my work, you will be staying in my house for the time being"
