It's one hour before I meet my prey so Agatha is helping me get ready. In her own way.
"Do I really have to wear this?" I complain
"Obviously, your dress doesn't fit so I bought you this" Agatha replies as she ties up my long hair
It's an off the shoulder, short black dress, exposing all the sites where my sheaths are except my thighs so I'm down to two knives and a hairpin.
"I'm going to freeze in this"
"You will get warm once you're inside"
"What exactly do people do in these nigh-- ouch! Careful with my hair!"
"Stop moving then" Agatha laughs "you will find out yourself"
I sigh as she puts her final touches on my hair "what do you think?"
I look at the mirror, I like the high wavy ponytail it adds a feminine touch with my long bangs but the dress is just...
"Don't you think the dress is a bit reveling?" Did I mention I'm half unarmed because of this?
"Not at all you're just not used to it" Agatha grins "the point is to attract James anyway"
"Right still can't believe I'm doing this" I roll my eyes
"You can have some fun you know, take a break"
"Not sure fun is the right word" I sigh again and glance at her "you're not coming?"
"No I'm not really a clubbing person" she says as she leaves her room and I follow.
I nearly gasp. Elias inhales sharply.
He is in his old pants but he took off his jacket and changed his shirt to a black one with sleeves, half of it is unbuttoned revealing the middle of his chest with that necklace of him there...damn.
"You two are done gawking at each other?" Agatha picks up her keys "I'll drive you there let's go"
We are silent during the whole drive, not looking at each other.
I take a quick glance to my left. Correction, it's only me who is not looking.
Elias' eyes are scanning me up and down not doing any effort to hide it
"Stop it" I glare
"Stop what?" He grins
"Stop looking like an idiot" my gaze falls accidentally to his chest and I look away fast, my face heats
"I'm afraid I can't, especially when you are doing the same" he mocks and I give him the middle finger
"That's an interesting way to thank me, you're no longer cold right?" He tilts his head to my side and whispers, his grin widening "unless you prefer my arms around you?"
"Why you--"
The car stops.
"We are here" Agatha faces us with a weird look "I'll pick you up after two hours"
We drop from the car, standing in front of a building with a purple neon sign of three dancing figures, there is even a red carpet at the door and the music can be heard from here
"That human really likes to show off his money" Elias scoffs, looking at the carpet then offers me his arm. I take it and let him leads.
As soon as we step in, the first thing I notice is the amount of people here, it's busted. The place is illuminated with a dim light in the shades of purple and blue, the music is too loud but no one seems to mind, in fact, they like it judging from all those who are dancing in a space in the middle. I look to my right and see a long rectangular table where a waitress is serving drinks behind it as several humans took a seat, sipping from there glasses.
I spot Camila and the others on the dance floor and giving what they are and everyone else is wearing Agatha was right, my dress isn't a good fit here.
I look up and see it, that huge, glassy room in the ceiling. It's easy to find James, his blonde hair is difficult to miss, he is sitting with several men in black suits.
Agatha told me to ignore him but will that be enough to make him come down here?
"You're frowning too much" Elias' voice startles me and I shift my gaze to him "you will ruin your beautiful face"
I try not to blush "why don't you go and busy yourself with something?"
"I could say the same to you" he pauses then smirks "you know what? Until that scum bag comes I'm going to enjoy myself maybe even irritate him" he grabs my waist and tugs me closer "so may I have the honor?"
As if it can hear him, the music changes to a one with slow beat.
Elias leads me to the center of the club where the humans are dancing, he keeps his right hand on my waist then takes mine to rest on his shoulder and holds the other with his left hand.
"What are you doing?" Stupid heart calm down
"Enjoying myself" he starts moving and I try to mimic "what's better to do so than dancing with you?"
"Hate to break it for you but I don't know how to dance" sure enough, I stomp on his shoes
"Just follow my lead, I'll make you sway in a way that shows off your perfection" he moves to the right and I follow, takes a step forward and I take one back.
"And why would you do that?" I can't help but grin "what's really in your mind?"
He sends me in a spin then pulls me back. "You" his hand goes up my bare back, it's warm "you're always there, whenever I try to force you out of my head, you break in again" he leans forward and I lean back, I'm trying to ignore the heat on my cheeks as he pushes our bodies down which forces my leg to slide forward "a sweet, dangerous addiction I can't stop savoring, just when I thought you can't be more beautiful here you are proving me wrong"
He holds my gaze for some moments while his words sink in me then pulls us up again.
I look at him, flabbergasted. The loud music is like a background noise, like my ears are muffled to everything but his voice.
He chuckles "my my you only saw the tip of the iceberg" all pairs start moving in circles and we join in synchronization "I'm tempted to see your face when we sink deeper"
"I'm good with the tip I don't think my heart can handle more of your--" I trail off
"My what Sylvia?" He sends me in another spin then locks our arms, pinning my back against his chest.
I tilt my head up "stop saying my name like that it does things to me" my heart is drumming so loud I think he can hear it, a melody of devotion that only plays for him.
"You like it" his warm breath brushes the shell of my ear.
"I do" I can't force myself to lie it's like my brain has given up to my heart.
He breaks our lock with a spin. He lets go of my hand then brings both of mine to the back of his neck while one of his falls to my knee and lifts it up, the other on my back as he pushes us down again.
"Sylvia" he whispers, grinning wide.
"Stop it" so hot
He leans closer and opens his mouth but the music suddenly stops and a white light replaces the colorful ones. Elias huffs then pulls us up as some people scatter, making way for echoing footsteps coming our way.
"Such a perfect timing" Elias huffs again
"For the first time I agree with you" I say without looking at him, he is definitely grinning
Guess my break is over.
My prey has arrived.
