Agatha changed my bandages as soon as I woke up, the wound is smaller than it was yesterday, maybe my healing is getting better?
"Since you want to know about weapons here is one, but I'm sure they are developing something more destructive"
After breakfast, we are sitting on the sofa as Agatha stands in front of us, holding what seems to be a hand sized black weapon.
Elias didn't speak a single word about yesterday and for the first time I'm grateful for him.
"It's called a gun" Agatha says as she demonstrates how to hold it in the right way "your fingers on the grip except your index goes here on the trigger"
"What does it do exactly?" Elias asks
"There are bullets loaded inside, once I press the trigger, one will fly out in a high speed and hits the target with destructive damage, penetrates the flesh straight to the heart for example"
"And I assume those bullets are made of silver?" I ask, my focus is on the trigger
"And each time you press another bullet flies out" Elias adds
"Yes and yes. Most humans carry one actually for self defense" she places it on the table "they are good because you can hit from a far distance but you need to have good aiming skills. Of course, the shorter the distance the more damage the bullet will cause" she pauses, the gears in her head are moving "but a bullet to the heart or the head is a death shot no matter how far the distance is, and any other site is extremely painful and able to make you bleed out. The bullet has to be extracted and the wound stitched to survive"
"Interesting, but I think it's easy to be disarmed" Elias says
"True" Agatha nods "just go for the person's hand that's holding the gun and give it a kick or something and he is disarmed. That is, if he didn't shoot you first but you guys are quite fast and some people freeze in fear so yes, they are developing something more useful"
"Right about that, you didn't answer where we can get those information" I narrow my eyes on her.
"You certainly can't if you guys keep yourself locked in my house" she sits beside me "I took the day off so I'm taking you this afternoon for a stroll to start interacting with people and in the next upcoming days you two will go by yourselves. You have to make a good impression"
"Good impression? Why should I care what they think of me?" I cross my arms.
Agatha sighs heavily "Sylvia, you have to blend in right? You need to interact with people nicely so they approach you"
Elias snorts and I glare at him.
"The same goes for you" she points at Elias and it's my turn to snort.
"If I can offer an advice?" She asks and I nod "use your beauty to your favor"
"What?" My eyebrows shoot upward
"C'mon Sylvia, a beautiful girl and nice?" She winks at me.
This is going to be the end of me.

We have been strolling for thirty minutes and well, it's not as terrible as I imagined.
The place here is beautiful.
Everything is draped in soft shades of orange and purple signaling sunset. The street is busted with kids playing together, women sitting at a table in front of a building with a sign that says cafe, drinking and laughing, lots of cars in all directions and lots of stalls, each is selling something, it's not bad.
But then I remember my mother and all my hatred is back.
Some coworkers of Agatha passed by and asked about our health, they told us to make sure to rest and not go far at night again and we gave them simple smiles and nods.
"Do you want some of this Sylvia?" Agatha asks, pointing to a stall that has lots of kids gathered around it "it's hot chocolate"
"I heard about chocolate but never tried it" I shrug and her eyes are full of -did I hear that right- look.
I sigh "every vampire is responsible about their family regarding what and how they hunt and make their food, we also go by the trading system, you want something from someone then give something in return. I did see some kids have chocolate"
"You too?" She asks Elias
"No I'm familiar with sweets, my little sister kept asking for them"
I tense, he has a little sister.
And I took him away from her.
Come to think of it, I don't actually know anything about him.
"Please don't tell me your father never brought you sweets?" She is back to me
"It's just the chocolate, mom craved some sweets and asked father to bring whatever ingredients he can get so she can mix them into something I remember it's called a cake. Cocoa beans were more available in the west so they were difficult to acquire"
"Oh goodness, wait here" she hurries to the stall, standing in the line of kids
"I still don't trust her" Elias says glaring at Agatha from where we are waiting
"It doesn't deny the fact that we need her, you are free to trust her or not" I shrug
"Do you?" He shifts his glare to me
"Haven't decided, but one thing for certain is that I won't send my letters to father when she is nearby" I glare back.
"Speaking of that, how do you plan to send them?"
I grin "it's a surprise"
Agatha is back holding two cups "here" she passes one to me and the other to Elias.
"What did you trade it with?" I ask her as Elias takes a sip from his.
"Well, we do trade but it's a bit different than yours, we call it buying and everyone buys with something called money" she takes out what looks like a small colored paper "everything has a specific price and accordingly you give the money. You can see a number here. If the price is higher you add more of this"
"That's complicated" I glance to her hand "where's yours?"
"I'm fine, I don't want to miss the look on your face when you try chocolate, careful it's hot" she chuckles, even Elias is staring too.
"Really? Fine" I take a sip and almost drop the cup.
"It's delicious" goodness it's sweet but has a unique flavor, there is a little bitter taste but it's combined perfectly.
Elias snorts "you should see the look on your face"
"You look cute" Agatha laughs
I walk ahead "very funny, you two are done?" I say over my shoulder before I slam into someone, the cup spills all it's content on his shirt.
"I'm sorry!" I take out a tissue to try cleaning the mess but he grabs my wrist suddenly and pulls me closer, staring hard at me. A man with blue eyes and blonde hair, wearing a black dress shirt, white pants and a white suit jacket is draped over his shoulders.
A pair of men in black suits rushes to his sides "sir we will bring you a new one immediately" the one on his right says
"Sir she is just a kid I'm sure she didn't mean it"
Who on earth is he calling a kid? Who is that anyway?
The blonde one leans in and grins "what's your name?"
Can I punch him? He has the arrogant face that says punch me
"Oh? Don't be afraid, even though you just spilled a hot drink on me I don't hit beauties. I'll have your name when we meet again" he kisses my knuckles then pivots on his way, the two in black follow.
What the hell was that? Now I want to cut my hand.
"Let go!" I hear Elias shouts and I whirl to see Agatha is trying her best to hold him on his ground before she finally lets go.
"Goodness Sylvia what's wrong with your partner?" She asks glaring at Elias "he looked like he is about to start a fight and there is no way I'd let him, especially not with him" she points to where the blonde is walking.
"I don't care who is he!" Elias yells at Agatha "if he touches her again I'll--"
"No you won't! That's exactly what he should do!" She yells back.
"Agatha who is that?" Judging from his companions he seems important, I look over my shoulder but he is gone now "and what do you mean by I should let him touch me? I had a thought to put a punch in his face"
Agatha narrows her eyes on me, her tone is serious "he is what you're after. Information"
