The cold, sterile light of the bathroom illuminated Hyunwoo's pale, determined face. His reflection, a mask of indifference, watched as the sharp edge of the blade found its mark. Each cut, a shallow incision into his skin, was a silent scream, a desperate attempt to quell the storm raging within.
After the fifth cut, a sense of temporary calm washed over him. He cleaned the blade meticulously, his movements mechanical. The silence was shattered by a persistent knocking at his door. With a sigh, he opened it to find Yeonjoo standing there, her eyes filled with concern.
"All need answers of the past hyun," she said softly.
Hyunwoo nodded, his expression unchanged. They descended the grand staircase to find the entire family gathered in the living room, their faces etched with worry and confusion.
Jimin, the ever-impulsive one, broke the silence. "Care to explain what was that? Yeon being Ariana and all, and you suddenly being a twin who only came yesterday? Amazing! Care to explain."
Hyunwoo took a deep breath. "It was 22 years back."
He began to unravel the tangled web of their past. Bella Genovese, his and Yeonjoo's biological mother, and Mrs. Kim Yeonseol, their adoptive mother, were sisters. Mrs. Kim, the elder, had become the Mafia queen, but Bella, consumed by ambition, married Genovese to claim the throne for herself. Their children, Hyunwoo and Yeonjoo, became pawns in their mother's twisted game. At the age of five, their training began, a brutal initiation into a world of darkness. When Seol was born, Bella kidnapped her, creating a false reality for Yeonjoo.
Their childhood was a nightmare of physical and emotional torture. When they were ten, Mrs. Kim rescued Yeonjoo and Seol, but Hyunwoo was left behind, a discarded tool in his mother's grand scheme.
The present.
It was Seol's birthday, and the mansion was abuzz with preparations for a surprise party. As the sun began its descent, a sense of excitement filled the air. Taehyung and Jungkook had taken Seol out, shielding her from the surprise.
Yeonjoo's heart ached for Seol, who had seemed so disappointed earlier. Felix, ever the optimist, assured her that the surprise would make everything better. As the time drew near, the mansion was plunged into darkness, everyone hiding in anticipation.
When Seol returned with Taehyung and Jungkook, the lights exploded into life, and cheers erupted from every corner. Seol's laughter was like music, filling the room with joy. As they celebrated, a gunshot echoed through the mansion, freezing everyone in their tracks.
Suga's voice cut through the silence, "It was a gunshot."
Yeonjoo stood up, her resolve unwavering. "I'll go and check."
The others protested, but Yeonjoo was adamant. Someone had to find out what had happened. As she turned to leave, a cold dread crept into her heart.
Suddenly they heard the gun shots. Hyunwoo and bts and blackp8nk taking out guns. Yeonjoo and Felix and seol and huunjin. Soon killing and all. All dead but one man was about to shot seol when Mr Kim came and died.
The sharp crack of a gunshot shattered the festive atmosphere like a thunderclap. A collective gasp swept through the room as the realization of danger penetrated the celebratory haze. Suga, his sharp senses honed by years of training, was the first to react.
"It was a gunshot," he stated calmly, his voice cutting through the stunned silence.
Yeonjoo’s heart pounded in her chest. A cold dread washed over her as she imagined the worst. Her voice, steady despite the turmoil within, cut through the chaos. "I'll go check it out."
A chorus of protests erupted from the group. Taehyung, his face pale, urged her to stay put, but Yeonjoo was resolute. Someone had to find out what had happened. She turned to leave, her mind racing with possibilities, none of them good.
As she moved through the darkened corridors, her hand instinctively reached for her concealed weapon. The mansion, once a place of warmth and comfort, now felt like a hostile fortress. Every shadow seemed to harbor a threat.
The source of the gunshot came from the main hall. As she approached, the scene that unfolded before her was a nightmare made real. Bodies lay scattered across the marble floor, their lifeless forms a stark contrast to the vibrant decorations. The once-joyful room was now a macabre tableau.
Hyunwoo, his face etched with grim determination, was engaged in a deadly dance with several armed intruders. His movements were swift and precise, each blow calculated and lethal. BTS and Blackpink, their training kicking in, were fighting alongside him, their weapons a blur of steel.
Yeonjoo joined the fray without hesitation, her movements as deadly as Hyunwoo’s. Felix, Huunjin, and Seol, their fear momentarily eclipsed by adrenaline, fought with a ferocity that belied their youthful appearance.
The intruders were skilled, but they were outnumbered and outmatched. One by one, they fell, their bodies adding to the growing pile of casualties. The once-elegant hall was transformed into a battlefield, the air thick with the acrid scent of gunpowder.
Amidst the chaos, Seol found herself face to face with a masked intruder. His gun was raised, his finger tightening on the trigger. Time seemed to slow as she realized the gravity of the situation.
Just as the intruder was about to pull the trigger, a figure emerged from the shadows. It was Mr. Kim, his face a mask of fury. With a swift movement, he tackled the intruder, disarming him. In the ensuing struggle, a shot rang out, and Mr. Kim collapsed to the ground, a fatal wound to his chest.
The intruder, now unarmed, was quickly subdued by Hyunwoo. As the last threat was neutralized, a heavy silence descended upon the room. The survivors stood amidst the carnage, their minds reeling from the horror they had witnessed.
The survivors stood amidst the carnage, their minds reeling from the horror they had witnessed. BTS and Blackpink slowly made their way towards Mr. Kim, their faces etched with shock and grief. Yeonjoo and Seol remained frozen in place, their hands trembling uncontrollably.
"It's not your fault," Jisoo's voice, gentle and reassuring, cut through the silence. She moved towards Yeonjoo and Seol, wrapping them both in a comforting embrace.
Yeonjoo shook her head, her voice barely a whisper. "If we had been quicker, if we had been stronger..."
"Don't say that," Jimin interjected, his voice filled with both sadness and anger. "This wasn't your fault. This was the work of cowards."
Seol's eyes were wide with fear and disbelief. "I could have stopped him," she stammered, her voice filled with self-blame. "I could have saved Mr. Kim."
Namjoon knelt beside Mr. Kim, his face a mask of despair. "It's not your fault, Seol," he said softly. "None of this is anyone's fault."
Jin, his voice thick with emotion, added, "We'll get through this together. We'll find out who did this and bring them to justice."
Taehyung, his eyes filled with tears, looked at the fallen bodies. "I can't believe this is happening," he whispered, his voice trembling.
Jungkook, his face hard with determination, nodded. "We won't let this go unpunished," he vowed.
The room was heavy with silence, broken only by the soft sobs of some of the survivors. The once-festive atmosphere had been replaced by a chilling dread, and the mansion, once a place of safety and joy, now felt like a haunted house.
As they stood there, surrounded by the aftermath of violence, they realized that their lives would never be the same again.
