"I was deceived. You're not what I expected." Riker said as I got a glass from the cabinet and filled it. "I'm surprised, that's all."
"What were you expecting?" I stare at him while he drinks from the cup.
He pulled the cup from his mouth and his lips puckered just a little. I had to hold back shivers down my spine. He was as perfect in person as Ross was. "Don't be mad, but we were bored, so we listened to your iPod. Guess I expected a super fan or something. We are all that is on there, besides Ross' Austin and Ally album."
I must have blushed, cuz he smiled at me with a beautiful smile. "What else did you look at on there?"
"There's more?" He asked in a suspenseful tone. I started to feel the heat in my cheeks now. There, you done it now. He saw I was embarrassed now. He just smiled and walked away, leaving the cup on the table.
I went into the living room to grab my iPod before him or one of his brothers could grab it. I wasn't going to embarrass myself again, I decided to leave. I didn't want to interrupt dad, so I wrote him a note and grabbed my keys and went out the door.
I parked the car outside my best friends house. This would be my hide out, but for many more reasons this time. 5 reasons to be exact. Before I got out of the car, I thought hard about what happened just minutes ago, contained myself, and got out of the car.
Kayleigh met me at the door. "You alright girl, you look like you are about to pass out." I tried to figure out why she was laughing and not helping me if I looked that bad. She knew what my dad did, so I'm guessing she had a general idea why. "Who is it this time?"
I smiled and had to contain myself again before I could speak. "I just had a conversation with Riker, and last night Ross." I watched as she connected the two.
Her eyes lit up. "Lynch? Riker and Ross Lynch are your dad's new project? The big job you said he had coming up?" Maybe telling her was a bad idea.
"Yeah, and they are nosy. They looked at this," I said as I held up my iPod to show her. "He said they were listening to the music, but he wouldn't tell me if they looked at the pictures or my accounts."
"Girl, your iPod is filled with everything R5, if he did, he would tell you. Don't worry."
"Well he didn't exactly say no, he just smiled and walked away."
We spent 5 hours just talking about them. She asked a million questions and I answered everything I could in the little time I spent with only the 2 boys. Soon it was dark, and I had to go. I gave her firm but nice orders that until further notice she couldn't come over or tell anyone that they were at my house. She only pouted, and I walked out to my car.
When I got back home, that car was still there. I decided to go in and go straight upstairs. That was the plan anyway. After I opened the door, dad and the 6 of them were in my living room. I wasn't getting past them. I had to get over this.
As I walked past them, Ross hollered at me. "Hey, there you are."
"Don't turn around, don't turn around" I whispered to myself. I don't obey myself apparently, because I turned and walked into the living room. "Hello everyone."
Rydel stood up and came over to me. "Nice to meet you. You must be Heather."
"Yup, I'm pretty sure." I turn to dad, "that is who I am, right?" They all laughed and I smiled back to all of them, stopping with Ross. He laughed until I got to him, than he stopped laughing and gave me the most beautiful welcoming smile. Yeah, I'm in trouble if I ever plan on getting over him sitting there.
"Why don't you watch a movie with us darling. It just started." I looked at dad, surprised. Usually he is ignoring me when clients are at the house, and when he's not ignoring me he's running me off. Was I dreaming?
I decided not to question it. But before I could go sit by dad, Rydel runs to that spot, which also happens to be right by where Ellington was sitting on the other side of her as well. I started to think they planned this. There was only one seat available. I look over and see it. Ross pats the cushion right next to him. Yup, planned for sure.
I go sit down, and I try not to look over at Ross. But from the corner of my eye I see him smiling at me. He does have a beautiful smile. The last time, and only time, I talked to him, I made a fool of myself. Hopefully he didn't bring that up.
Apparently over the movie I managed to relax, because by the time it was over, I was sitting back comfortably and half way slouched toward him. What was I doing?
As soon as the credits started, Riker, who was on Ross' left side, leaned forward to start talking to dad again. Soon everyone jumped in. I was sitting there like a bump on a log, but escape would be impossible. I decided to get my iPod out and check my twitter while they all talked.
"Sorry I made you so nervous last night. I really try not to." I look over and Ross is no longer talking with the others, he is half turned toward me. That smile.
"Yeah, you knew what you were doing" I joke with a little smile back at him. He chuckled just a little, and it was just as I imagined it to be.
I lean on toward him to whisper, "am I still dreaming?" I ask.
He leans back at me, "no, I don't think so." There's the smile, again.
I could get used to this, to them being around, but I really shouldn't. It wasn't forever. But why was dad inviting me to hang out with them? He knew better than this.
