Rydel had everything planned. This night was a family night. A few games, play some music and watch a few movies. She gave me pick, but I told her to go for it. She didn't like attitude toward it, but I told her I wasn't much for movies. Unless it's a tv show, usually didn't watch much TV. Oh yeah, come to find out, we like a lot of the same stuff. Something else to chat about. But she gave in and picked them out. After finding out we have the same taste in tv shows, I didn't doubt her movie picking skills. Stormie and Mark hung around for a while, but when they left, Rydel kicked off the party.
In a way I was bummed. I usually spent most of the night snuggled up to Ross making out half the night, and just chatting. I promised to be a good sport, although I would miss the one on one time with Ross. He promised to make it up to me tomorrow. Even though I put on a good face in front of his siblings and El, I did break down with just him around. Today was the exception of the last three days. I kept it straight, until I saw that his parents came for support. The guys and Rydel only met him a few times, so when they were sad, it was feeling bad for me. The did call off the music video for this song completely, in honor of my dad. I found that sweet. Believe it or not, that one was Riker's idea.
I spent a lot of time to myself out in the garage, playing the song I wrote for dad over and over again. I couldn't hear his voice in my head now. It's like with the funeral it disappeared. I know that was naturally real, but I do believe in spirits, and I believe he stayed with me through the hardest times. Than we he was put to rest, he truly went to peace. Nobody bothered me for a while. I played it over and over until it started to stick in my head. I found a piece of paper, and put those notes to words. I wrote a song for my new family.
I wrote about each of them, even Stormie and Mark, and Ryland too. Not just who was in the house. After about an hour, I had it written. I was going to play it for them during Rydel's designated music period. They waited for me. She tried to come get me, but I ran her off with a smile, told her I had a surprise for her. My song mainly talked about what I liked about each of them.the song consisted of these things:
Ross: so kind and understanding. So rough to the eye of others, but I saw someone different, so caring, by my side when when I need him.
Riker: the multi personality. How he loves to pick, but when you need a friend, or a brother, he's there. He can go from joking to serious in zero to sixty, and understanding when you need to talk.
Rydel: the queen of fashion. Great taste in tv. A great listen, and my go to girl for advice.
Rocky: hobby and dedication to his music, slightly wild side, but knows when to be serious, obsessed with his pony tail and loves to write music
Ellington: quiet when you want loud, loud when you want quiet. He's always drumming, like always. Mostly shy, but flirty personality, and a great foot rest (to almost all of us.)
Ryland: serious dedicated tech savvy, always happy, loves to share a hug in need, and totally sweet guy.The last three were the hardest to write about. I didn't have enough on Stormie and Mark, I would add that later. I practice the song a few times until I have it down, than I grab the guitar and lyric sheet and go sing it for them. When I come in the room, every one is talking. Rydel catches everyone's attention when she goes nuts that I finally came to the room. I just laugh, and go sit next to Ross in the floor. Starting with music, I offer my song first, that was its not so hard to compare while I sang it. I got up on the bench from the bar Rydel had set. She reminded me of Alice Cullen, wish I would have thought of that.
"I wrote this just a little bit ago, but I spent a lot of time going over it. I'm not an expert writer, keep that in mind.i look at all the faces, smiling longer at the last one. He smiled bigger at me. "I actually put the tune together the other night, but I just added lyrics to it. This is for you guys." I opened with the first verse, it being the chorus. Than sang about Ross, Riker and Rydel. I watched them as I sang, the all appeared to like it. Chorus repeated a little harder, than Rocky, Ellington and Ryland. The chorus repeated the chord time was almost a higher pitched, although with my voice it sounded awful, but I didn't care. It was the song that mattered, not my voice. I closed the song with a line from an old book about family I read. Giving credit in the lyrics of course.
