We went back out the back door we came in. I went out smiling, not only did I finally get to meet his whole family, but I almost conquered my fear. Stormie pulled me from Ross and gave me a hug, demanding that he bring me by sometime. I smiled and promised that I would do it. He laughed as he put the guitar into the back seat.

"She's mine!" He growled wrapping his arms around my waist. I leaned back against him laughing. I didn't expect this. I cupped my arms around his so he couldn't leg go of me. Turning to the side, he kissed my forehead. Just than his phone rang. He looked at his mom, snarled leaving one arm around me and reached for his phone. "Riker. He can wait." He put the phone back in his back pocket wrapping both arms around me again.

He leaned back against the hood of the car, pulling me with him. I snuggled into him, while him and his mom fighter over me. It was funny. A lot of growling. I laid back against him and closed my eyes. They kept talking, and I was comfortable. If this whole feeling stuck around for a while, I would remember how broken I used to be.

Just than my phone buzzed in my back pocket. Ross jumped, and I don't blame him. Everyone laughed. He wouldn't let go for me to check, so I went in. He buried his face in my hair as he held on. Amazingly, they all thought it was funny. I gave up, because he was fighting me. But I got revenge. As I slid my hand back from behind me, I turned my hand around. His posture stiffened. "Okay, you win!" He lets me go, but I'm no longer interested in the phone. He has his face buried in my should laughing. "You're dead!" He whispers in my ear. I turn toward with a haha laugh. He growls at me.

After that laugh was over, they started planning a cook out, and Stormie insisted I come. It wasn't really a cook out, but more of a camp out. They all went out and rented a beach house and stayed there for the weekend every month or two. I accepted, and she smiled and reached in to hug me again. Ross didn't fight this time, I knew my weapon now. When she let go of me, watching him getting impatient, he reached for my hand, telling his mother that he wasn't letting go again.

Everyone said good bye, and Ryland was saying he would be out Friday and staying for the whole weekend, and to make sure I wasn't sick this time. I laughed, and made that promise. During the last good bye, he walked me around to the passenger door. I laughed as I got in. I was dead, he would for sure get me back for that. I pulled the phone out of my pocket and the message was from Ryland. He had snapped a picture when I was laying against Ross. My new favorite picture. I showed him I got it, mouthing thank you when he saw me. He smiled and walked back in.

A few seconds later Ross was climbing in the car already had the devil look on his face. I laughed. He was too funny. "So should I be scared?" I asked him in a fake terror voice.

He looked at me sarcastically, "at least make it sound real," he laughed. "And don't worry, you're still here for another night." He looked down at me smiling a sneaky grin. "And if I can't find a way to get you back, I will another time." He puts the car into reverse, backs out, and when he puts it back into drive I take my place.

He laughs, and kisses the top of my head. While his mom waved, I waved back, and Ross blew the horn. "Thank you." I say as I look up at him.

He smiles, "for what?"

"Everything." I kiss his arm. "For the last 2 weeks. For bringing the best out of me again that I hid inside. For changing my meaning of music. For being my best friend." I look up at him. When he gets to the red light, he looks at me too. "For loving me." I smile at him. "For making the dead feeling inside go away. For boosting me through rough times." He is still staring down at me smiling. "For being the best love anyone could ask for." When I finish all my thanks I lay my head back on his arm.

He lays his head on mine for a second, than takes his other hand up, pulling my face toward him. He kisses me softly, passionately, than pulls back. "Thank you for all that and more." My eyes were still closed, but I could feel his face shift as he smiled. He pulls his arm free from my hands and wraps it around me. I shift my body around to lay against him. "I have to admit, that was kind of funny back there." Just than the light turned green and he started driving again.

"So I'm off the hook?" I look up at him from the laying position I was in.

He nods and looks down at me, "oh no, I didn't say that." He laughed and looked back up out the windshield. "I will get you back."

We laughed and I got myself comfortable again. I sighed, and he kissed the top of my head again. Yes, the dead feeling was gone. I was truly happy again. Nothing could spoil my mood, or so I thought.
