I grab his hand and we walk back into the house. "We'll be back," he says as he grabs his keys and we go out the door. He walks me to the passenger side and opens the door for me. He was such a gentleman. When he goes around the car and gets in the drivers seat, he pulls out his phone and sends a text.
When he's done, he starts the engine, and puts the car in drive. As he's pulling out, he reaches his hand over for mine. I lock my fingers into his, and smile up at him. I lay my head over on his arm. As usual, he kisses the top of my head. As we came to the light, it turned red. I leaned up, turning his face in my direction. I kiss him softly, than a slow passionate kiss. "I love you," I whisper.
He kisses me on my nose, than softly on my lips. "I love you too." He smiles. "Maybe I can find a way to show you how much."
"What are you talking about?" I ask him. "You already do."
"No," he answers back, "I actually don't."
"What are you talking about?" I ask him, "again."
He looks over at me, squeezing my hand tighter as the light turned green. "Well, I know today I promised you a fun day, and it's half way over." He looks at me, "but do you remember two days ago when I said I was going to introduce you to a few people?"
"Yeah, I asked you who but you never told me."
He smiles. "Well, that's where we are going now. I'm meeting a few people, but you are coming with me. I want them to meet you."
"I thought we were going to my house?" I ask him confused.
"After. But first I have some business to tend to. I made you a promise, and I haven't broken one yet. Not starting now." He smiles and kisses me on the nose again. "This isn't much, but I promise you'll love it."
I smile. "Being with you makes for the best day ever you know." I tell him. "We can just be sitting around and I'm still having fun." I look at him. "Do you realize how bored I was yesterday morning?"
He laughs a little. "I can imagine. You should have seen how you fell to sleep." He laid his head on mine and laughed again. "I wanted to take a picture, but I didn't think you would like that too well."
"You're right." I tell him. "I wouldn't have liked that much at all." He laughs again, and I laugh with him.
He holds my hand as the light turns green and we pull off. A few minutes later he slows down. He pulls into a big parking lot filled with cars. I look around confused, he looks down smiling at me. When he parks, he reaches over me into the glove compartment. "I was hoping you wouldn't see this." He hands me an envelope. "I forgot it was in here when you used the car the other day."
Sometimes I wished I was a nosy person. I take the envelope and I open it. The flap says TicketMaster. I can see him from my foresight watching me. I put my hands inside and pull out two tickets. That explain the theater. I read, NICKELBACK in all caps. Under it in smaller but still all caps, I read FT. DAYGHTRY AND THE FRAY. I smile and look at him.
"Are you serious?" My heart pounds. I was happy. I did love it. I did love him.
"Read on," he says. I wipe a few tears that don't want to pass from my eyes to read more. It was not only a show, but front row too. "Like?"
"I love!" I reach over and wrap my arms around his neck. I feel him smile. I pull back to get to his lips. I kiss him, and don't want to stop. He pulls away. "I love it." I say trying to catch my breathe.
He smiles as he pulls my arms back, and climbs from the car. I grab my phone I took out of my pocket when I got in, and Ross comes to the door and opens it. I grab his hand, and he pulls me, so fast I feel I'm flying. He wraps both arms around my waist and kisses me again, closing the door at the same time. I slide my hands into his back pocket. He smiles, but doesn't stop kissing me.
When he stops kissing me, he doesn't let me go. He leaves his forehead against mine. "I love you Sweetheart."
"I love you too..." I stop to think. "I need a name for you." I laugh.
He laughs back. "We will figure that out later." He forces my hands from his pocket. "We better go." He grabs one hand, locking his fingers in mine. I squeeze his tightly, and he repeats my action. Than, like always, I lay my head on his arm.
We walk through the door, and people turn to look. I don't pay mind, most people were older, but there's were others mine and his age who knew exactly who he was. He squeezed my hand tighter, and I smiled. I wasn't much for people staring at me. They saw Ross, yes, but I could hear people asking peers, "who is with Ross" and "who's the girl" and questions like that. When we got to the ticket booth, he pulled out the tickets I slid into his back pocket. He let go of my hand and put his arm over my shoulders.
I needed to hold his hand though. I didn't want to tell him I was uncomfortable. He just thought that I wasn't used to this. It eventually wouldn't bother me anymore. I put my other hand in his over my shoulder. He looked and smiled at me, and kisses the tip of my nose. For a second I forget everyone around us, and it feels like we are just at his house. I picture that to calm my nerves.
I had to accept that we would never be able to have a private relationship, and if I wanted to be with him, it was going to go public. I'm still in my imaginary would when he pulls me forward. People had phones out taking pictures now, but I was in my happy place and smiling now. His arm was around me, and I had his hand in mine to hold him with me. We made it through the mob, and was at our seats. He left his arm around me, hand still tight in mine.
