"We'll make an example out of her."
-Could it be that, he had used it and because you knew it, that's why he didn't tell you. Because then you would have easily gotten yourself out of his house arrest in the beginning. You chuckle a little to yourself.
"What are you laughing at?" The guy says angrily, pointing the gun closer to you.
"More than a few things actually, but mostly I'm just tired. Tomorrow I'm gonna lock myself at home, and stay safe." You tell him. Using some words in an order you think might activate a certain something, you don't know what or maybe Jay will just get the meaning of what you mean by it.
Lock. Home. Safe.
(I know, I couldn't come up with some cool/weird/fun code language stuff so i just did something random, make it cooler in your head.)...
"Code words password detected. Overrunning system. Lockdown initiated." An automated voice sounds from the speaker and Jays eyes widen, he makes a run for the door, but just before he reaches it, metal enclosure slides down in front of the elevator making it impossible for him to leave the building.
He starts breathing heavily and let out a loud roar in anger as he punches the door with all the strength he has. The punch echoes and the metal bends slightly from the impact from his unnatural strength, but not enough to break through. It does remind his team how powerful he really is though. Because not even the strongest of the normal guys in this room could dent that.
"What just happened?" Elijah asks.
"I don't understand I can't do anything." Rhea says confused as to why she can't overrun the lockdown.
"It recognised the code, and initiated Home Lockdown. It means we're stuck here, at least for an hour, before you can get a change to hack it and get us out." Jay tells them glaring at the door.
"But, I don't understand. How did it happened?" Rhea asks, turning to him.
"She activated it by a code word password." Jay says.
"She's keeping you from coming for her.. She's keeping you safe." Jonny says looking at you on the screen and then his fuming boss by the door.
"You mean the code system we have, that makes us sound crazy, but has also saved our asses multiple times? She knows that complicated code? How have you had the time to teach her that? It took me 6 months to understand it almost a year to be able to use it as naturally as she just did." Wade asks confused.
Jay takes a few deep breaths to calm himself, knowing he is stuck in there.
"I'm saying that.. the code language we use, that has saved us, hundreds of times,.." He looks to his henchmen. Then to Rhea. "and the code you imprinted into our system, in a way helping you make us unstoppable and un-hackable, because people don't understand it.." He then looks to everyone with a smirk. "Was made by a 14 year old Y/N." He tells them and their jaws land on the floor.
"What!? I thought you made it?"
"We made it, her idea and her weird wording. I just decided to perfect it later on and use it." He tells them looking at you. Who's smirking tauntingly at the guy holding you at gunpoint. He shakes his head, worried about you. "I haven't told her that we use it. She must've tried the code just in case. And she was right. I had a lockdown put in. But NOT to keep me locked inside. I used it sometimes when we were young I needed her to stay put and don't risk coming for me. She rarely listened." He grumbles.
"And you have no way to unlock it?" Jonny asks.
"No she used the code that means to stay locked for at least 5 hours. But you're gonna try and get us out before that, Rhea." Jay tells her as he takes a seat beside her.
"I'll try, but that lockdown is serious, one of the hardest I made, not sure how fast I'll hack through it." She tells him.
"Get to on it then." He says.
...
"They're not budging." A masked man tells the guy who looks to be in charge.
"We'll make an example out of her." He points to you.
...
"Any last words?" He asks you pointing his gun at your forehead.
"Not to you." You tell him, calmly. Trying to come to terms with the chance of dying in the next few minutes.
"Fine then, choose your words wisely." He tells you and gestures to the camera.
Slowly you turn in your chair looking down at your hands on the desk, before then looking up and into the camera. You feel the gun at your temple, but you don't shed a tear, you're completely calm.
"I forgive you." You tell him. And in that moment, Jays heart breaks. You just forgave him, he doesn't deserve your forgiveness, no matter how much he wanted it.
Some glass breaks and everyone's attention is turned to Batman bursting in. You sigh in relief, but just then the guy grabs you and hold you to his chest, pointing the gun at your head.
"Let the girl go." Batman tells him.
Before the guy gets to spit anything out of his mouth, Batman shoots him down.
"Thanks." You tell the Batman with a friendly smile. Batmans head tilts slightly, surprised by your calmness, before he turn to the rest of the scene, taking care of the situation. You run over to your colleagues and help untie them.
Later ...
Hours later you walk out of the building and find a car waiting for you, Wade and Jonny standing by it with crossed arms. They look at you with a disapproving look but you can see the hint of being impressed by you. You don't smile you just walk up to then slowly, wearily of what they might tell you about Jay.
"Boss is pissed at you." Wade tells you with a ghost of a smile playing on his face.
"It worked?" You raise your eyebrows.
"Oh, it worked alright." Jonny laughs. "We were stuck in there for 4 hours until Rhea got through it. Then everything was already over, so he made us pick you up."
...
Once you get into the elevator you tap your foot to the music and wait. The moment the doors open Jay is marching toward you angrily, and you take a hesitant step out of the elevator.
"Jay I.." You don't get to speak as he grabs your face and look you over for any damage.
He doesn't move to hug you he just looks to make sure you're unharmed, because if you are he will find those guys, though he might still do that. You just pry your way through his arms and into his chest, wrapping your arms around him. You feel his relief of having you in his arms again as he wraps his arms around you. He buries his head into your neck and you stroke your fingers through his hair. After a long moment he leans back up and you caress his head.
"Don't you EVER do that again." He tells you in anger.
You smile up at him as you caress his face lovingly, though intentionally not saying anything to agree with him. He's too busy reprimanding you to notice. And slightly dizzy from your soothing touch. You knew that you couldn't keep him safe at all times, but that didn't mean you didn't want him safe, so when you could you would try. But you were aware and knew the risks that involved his life. And you loved it. Especially the part of coming back into his arms afterwards.
