"You're not dangerous, you promised you would never-"
-Standing there, you feel like your heart is beating itself out of your chest. You look at his appearance in disbelief and shock. Your eyes travelling up and down his figure, seeing him all over again in a new light. When your eyes land on his again, you feel yours start to water. He just stares at you, jaw clenched and mouth in a frown.
"Jaso-" You say but he interrupts you.
"No." He then say's sternly.
"Jason?" You whisper in a barely audible voice stepping closer to him, but he stops you.
"Stop!" He yells. "Just stop." He says looking away from your eyes.
"But you're-" He interrupts you again and it's starts to get on your nerve, but you're too busy trying not to cry.
"No, I'm not. I'm not him." He says the last words in a whisper with a sad sigh.
"You are, but I thought, they said you.. I thought you were dead." You stare at him in disbelief, still in shock. Your hands clutching together on your chest as you look at your childhood best friend, the person you loved, but lost to suicide, at least that's what you were told had happened.
"He is dead." He says bluntly. And you feel your heart clench at that. You take few deep breaths, trying to calm your rapidly beating heart from all the emotions that's running wild in your body, and all the questions in your head, feeling yourself getting slightly dizzy.
"Clearly he's not, you're standing right in front of me. Not dead." You say and look at his new appearance again, taking in the white pale skin, his unnatural green hair, shaved eyebrows. "But you're.."
"I am dead." He then states. And you look back into his eyes. You examine his face and looking into his eyes, it's like you're looking at Jason again, but horrified by what he must've gone through since you last saw him.
"What happened to you, Jas-" You try to reach for his face but he grabs your wrists harshly in a tight hold.
"Joker." He corrects you in a stern voice, glaring at you. "Or Mr. J." He suggests. You just look at him for a moment.
"Jay." You then say, and as if coming to an agreement he lets your hand go. Pulling it back to your chest, you rub your wrist. "What happened to you? They told me you died, that you killed yourself." You say.
He just stares at you for a long moment. Then as if something made him remember there are people in the room he takes a step away from you and look around. Wade and Jonny by the wall hurriedly look away from you and Jay, he glares at them.
"Take her back." He orders them and Jonny moves immediately, heading for you. You back up as he approaches, with your hand in front of you.
"What? No! I'm not leaving." You try to tell Jay, but he doesn't look at you as Jonny just grabs you, pulling you toward the elevator again. "Jay, stop this! You can't just reveal that you're alive and then just throw me out!"
You fight against Jonny dragging you toward the elevator. He gets tired of you and moves to carry you instead. You kick your legs and try to pry yourself from his hold, he grunts when you get a good kick with your knee and you're back on your feet and try to go to Jay. Wade was close now and grab you with Jonny.
"Jason, please! Why are you doing this!?" You shout, trying to pry yourself from their strong hold on you.
"I'm doing this to keep you safe!" He then yells toward you in anger. His voice is thick and strong in the room, making it echo. You look at him with wide eyes, that didn't sound natural. Jay walks menacingly toward you. "Don't you see!? It's not safe for you here, it's dangerous. I'm dangerous. Fear me!" He shouts angrily in your face, some spit unintentionally coming on you in his anger. You just look at him with your own stern expression.
"Jason, I am not leaving. I can take care of myself. I wanted to come here, I want this job. And you're not dangerous, you promised you would never-" Suddenly your head whips to the side from the impact. Slowly, you look back up at Jason in disbelief, wide eyed and heartbroken by his actions. He just slapped you, you can't believe what just happened, this was all just unbelievable.
"The boy you remember is gone.. Dead." He tells you through gritted teeth and you finally shed your tears, one particularly falling down your face and to the floor. You look at Jay, who's looking down at where the tear landed on the floor, Wade and Jonny drags you into the elevator. Before the door closes you see him slowly move his gaze away from your tear drop on his floor, he looks at you one last time before the elevator doors close and you're out of sight.
In the elevator you stare at the closed doors for a long moment, breathing heavily. You then look down as you shed a few more tears, your breathing is still slightly shaky but you try to calm yourself. Then feeling the hands still holding you, you shake them off. Jonny and Wade let go since there's nowhere to run anyway at the moment. Then remembering something, you check your pockets looking for your wallet, which you find in your back pocket. You take it out and dig through it. The two behind you gets curious and look at you. When you take something out of the wallet, they can't help but lean slightly forward to look over your shoulder. There they see you folding out a small picture. When you've unfolded it, they see a brown haired boy with a grin on his face, holding a girl who's kissing his cheek. Jonny and Wade then share a glance at each other. You stand there in silence looking at the boy on the picture beside you, brushing your finger over his face, thinking back to the day it was taken.
