I bit back a small gasp of shock when a golden orb that flowed brightly appeared from the box like Eira said. I turned to look at her with wide eyes, hesitating, only for her to smile and nodded.

"Go ahead and touch the orb, Zanaya," Eira encouraged. She smiled and tucked her head closer to her chest while she looked at me. "It's time."

I hesitated before I slowly nodded, not saying a word before I turned my attention back to the golden orb. My heart pounded hard and fast in my chest while I reached out and touched the orb, closing my eyes while I did so.

Oh, Gods...

I felt my whole body seem to lift into the box and disappear from view, and I couldn't help but pray that Eira would be right there when I opened my eyes and praying that nothing else bad would happen to me.

"Good, I am glad that that didn't take as long as I thought it would," someone that sounded like a female said with a small sigh of relief. "It could have been a lot worse." The female snickered at something that happened in front of me. "Don't give me that look, Eira," she said. "I know that it wasn't your fault."

I opened my eyes and looked forward to see that there was a female with blonde hair and green eyes staring at me with such wisdom that I couldn't help but feel intimidated by it, by her.

She smiled and bowed, her blonde hair moving to her front. "Welcome, Holder," she said and placed her hands behind her back and clasped them together, clearing her throat before she stood. "My name is Katie, and I am the lady of the box, so welcome to my world." She gestured around her, and I looked around before I looked at her with wide eyes.

I opened my mouth to say something but no sound could escape, not even a squeak. I closed my mouth and frowned before I opened my mouth again, trying but failing to say something.

The female, Katie, smiled and shook her head. "You are not able to speak in this part, but you will be able to speak when we get to the next room." She smiled and tucked her head closer to her chest. "Don't worry. Her Highness isn't able to make any sound either."

Her Highness? I furrowed my brows and cocked my head while I stared at her, not knowing who she meant and wondered if I would be able to get to meet her soon.

Katie bit back a small chuckle and cleared her throat before she gestured toward the person behind me. "I am talking about Eira, of course," she said, and I looked that way to see Eira behind me.

Oh, thank Gods... I thought, breathing a small sigh of relief because I couldn't help but think that I had been sent here alone and she had broken her promise, especially since she hadn't said a word.

Eira smiled and tucked her head closer to her chest. Amusement and annoyance filled her eyes, and I had a feeling that she was annoyed at the fact that she couldn't speak. She walked over to me and held out her hand for me to take, and I did what she wanted and took her hand.

Eira pulled me into a hug and pressed a kiss to the side of my head, and I couldn't help but breathe a small sigh of relief while I closed my eyes and hugged her back.

"Such a strange interaction from the last one," Katie teased, and Eira rolled her eyes and pulled away from me but kept me in her arms.

She looked at Katie and narrowed her eyes, and Katie grinned and bowed her head.

Katie chuckled before she cleared her throat and grew serious, and we couldn't help but grow serious, too. "Come on, Your Highness," she said. "I think it's time to let her go and have her go through the doors." She gestured to the doors, and I looked that way before I looked at her again. "It's time for you to seal your Fate, Dear."

Seal my fate? I silently asked while I looked between the two of them before I looked at Eira, confused. What does she mean by that?

Eira pulled away from me but kept one of my hands in hers. She squeezed my hand reassuringly and gestured toward the door before she touched her throat and pointed at the door again.

I cocked my head and furrowed my brows, confused, and Eira bit back an annoyed sigh before she looked at Katie, and Katie chuckled and slowly nodded before she looked at me.

"Eira's trying to say that you both will be able to speak once we enter the doors. You also will be able to feel the pull of your gem when you go in there, but you can ask questions before you touch it. Eira did... twice."

Twice? I raised an eyebrow in question, and Eira's smile turned sad before she slowly nodded in confirmation.

She didn't say a word, which she couldn't anyway, and let go of my hand, making me feel empty and cold. She turned her hand around until I was able to see her wrist and pointed at the snowflake on her wrist.

"As you can see, Eira had been called and had to seal her fate twice. I am sure that she had told you about some of her past and Bane?" She raised an eyebrow in question while she looked between the two of us before she looked solely at me.

I hesitated and slowly nodded, remembering some of the conversations about Bane and how she came to be on this New Earth with no memories about her past and no idea what the future would bring.

Kaite cleared her throat and shifted on her feet, growing serious while she pressed her lips into a thin line. "Now, come on, and let's go ahead and go into the room. We have a lot to discuss and a little time to do it in, especially since both of you need sleep." She gave Eira a pointed look and pressed her lips into a thin line.

Eira rolled her eyes and pressed her lips into a thin line. She still didn't say a word, but I could tell that she wasn't fond of Kaite trying to tell her what to do.

"I am serious, Eira. I can see if Ralph can get you a sleeping potion if you would like, but you need some sleep." She raised an eyebrow in question while she cocked her head and studied her.

Eira wrinkled her nose and pursed her lips in annoyance. She shook her head and made a slicing motion across her neck, cocking her head to one side while she grimaced and stuck her tongue to the side.

She or someone else could be killed...

Katie shrugged and grimaced. "Ya, that is not a good idea..." She cleared her throat and looked at me, forcing a smile on her face. "But go ahead and open the door, Zanaya. We will follow you into the room. You have my word."

My heart stopped when she said that, and my mouth went dry. I clutched Eira's hand tighter when I felt her try to take it out of my hand. I didn't say a word while I looked at Eira with wide, pleading eyes, silently praying for her not to take her hand out of mine.

Eira's shoulders moved up and down when she chuckled and she nodded, silently telling me that she would not let go and that we could go into the room together if that's what I wanted.

I breathed a small sigh of relief and offered her a tight smile before I started to walk to the doors, wondering what the future would entail and pray that nothing would hurt me while I learn about this new future of mine with Eira and her group by my side.

Oh Gods protect us...
