Katie narrowed her eyes and pressed her lips into a thin line. She didn't say a word and folded her arms across her chest, and a look of worry flashed through her eyes.

I bit back a small smile and shook my head before I looked at Zanaya, and my heart ached and became filled with pain and sadness. I tucked my head closer to my chest and cocked my head to the side, raising an eyebrow in question. "Now, what is it that you need help with before you seal your fate and we leave this joint. Katie's getting on my nerves." I flashed her a small smirk and a wink, and the older female scoffed a laugh and rolled her eyes.

"Very funny, Eira," she said and narrowed her eyes playfully. "You are the one that is holding secrets from us." She raised an eyebrow in question, and I shrugged and grimaced, pressing my lips into a thin line. "Are you ever going to tell us?"

"Unfortunately, that is something that I am not able to disclose at this time," I said, biting back a tired sigh and moving a hand through my hair and across my face. "I wish that I would be able to tell you everything, but that is not the case. It could change the future of what we have to face.

Katie bit back a small frown and slowly nodded. She didn't say a word and placed her hands behind her back and looked at Zanaya before she looked at me again. She slowly blinked, and a look of worry flashed through her eyes while she studied me, knowing what I said was true.

Zanaya cleared her throat and shifted on her feet, and we looked at her without saying a word. Her cheeks were a little red, and she looked between the two of us before she looked at me. "Do you know what will happen if I go ahead and seal my fate?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Like I said, you will start working on your powers, and we will start finding a way to get to Yervon. We don't know where it is, and I am hoping that we will be able to find it soon." I shrugged and grimaced, pressing my lips into a thin line. "However, they, the Gods and Goddesses, are leery of what's going on down here, which is why they are going to make this harder than the other realms we had to get to."

"Oh," Zanaya said with a small frown on her face. Her shoulders sank in defeat, and I could tell that she was thinking that we were losing the battle when it hadn't even started.

I chuckled and shook my head, biting back an amused smile. "I do not know why you are looking at us like that, Zanaya," I said with a small hum in my voice. "We haven't lost before we have started. I hope that you know that."

"And how do you know?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "You don't know everything."

I bit back a small laugh and slowly nodded, clearing my throat. "I know that I do not know a lot, but I do know some things." I shrugged and bit the inside of my lip, biting back a tired sigh. "This is going to be complicated, but it will not be the most complicated thing ever."

"Are you sure?" Zanaya asked, and I nodded in confirmation. She sighed and looked at the gem before she looked at me, slowly blinking. She folded her arms across her chest and cleared her throat, biting the inside of her lip before she looked at the gem and then looked at me.

Debate filled her eyes, and I could tell that she wanted to go ahead and take the gem, even though a part of her wanted to know more about how it was not the most complicated thing ever.

I bit back a small smile and shook my head. "I will tell you everything later, Zanaya," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet. "However, for now, I think it is time for us to go. We have been here long enough."

Zanaya bit back a tired sigh and slowly nodded. "When will we be able to start getting the things to get us to Yervon? Will it be as soon as I touch the stone?" She gestured to the stone, asking the same question she had been asking and earning a small snort from Katie.

I looked at her and raised an eyebrow in question, pressing my lips into a thin line, even though all I wanted to do was smile because I knew what she was going to say. "Yes?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "Can I help you?"

"No," she said and shook her head, earning a small chuckle from me. "I just find it funny that she is acting the same way that you were acting the second time you came here."

I shrugged and bit back a small chuckle, slowly nodded. "I know," I said, earning a curious look from Zanya before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet. "I wanted to continue to ask questions and kept asking the same questions that I have asked before."

"Twice," Katie said and held up two fingers. "She asked the same questions both times, and I am hoping that will not happen again." She flashed me a small smirk and a wink, and I rolled my eyes and scowled, feeling a bit annoyed and tired but was also amused.

"Very funny, Katie," I grumbled while I folded my arms across my chest, tucking my head closer to my chest while I looked between the two of them. "It's not going to happen again, and even if it did happen, then I will not be coming back here."

"And why not?" Katie asked and raised an eyebrow in question while she looked at me. She frowned and cocked her head to the side while she studied me, trying but failing to get me to tell her what I meant, even though I had no idea what I meant.

But for some reason, I knew that what I said was true.

If something like what had happened to me a third time with me losing my memories and my powers, then I wouldn't end up here...

I smiled sadly and shook my head, and my heart seemed to break into a million pieces. "Don't worry about it, Katie," I said before I cleared my throat, shifted on my feet, and looked at Zanaya while I bit back a small smile and placed my arms behind my back, clasping my hands together. "Now, go ahead and touch your stone, Zanaya. I know that you have a lot of questions, and we will answer your questions later but not right now. Ok?"

"However, I will not be there to answer your questions," Katie said with a small laugh in her voice when Zanaya looked at her with wide eyes, "but we will talk later. Ok?" She bit back a small smile, tucking her head closer to her chest.

Zanaya hesitated before she slowly nodded. She took a deep breath and released it with a small whoosh before she looked at the gem, and she slowly got into that trancelike state while she cocked her head to the side, something that didn't happen with the rest of us.

Katie and I looked at each other with a weird look on our faces. We shrugged and looked at Zanaya to see what would happen next, praying that nothing bad would happen to her while she was in this trance.

Oh, Gods, protect her...
