I stared at the gem and slowly started to hear something while I looked at it. I took another step toward the gem, and slowly but surely the whispers started to grow clearer and started to sound in a way I could understand.
"Be strong, Young One," the voices whispered. "Be strong and listen to the world around you. Look at the bigger picture, but don't forget to notice the smaller details of that same picture. Notice the stuff behind the veil, for that will give you the answers that you seek."
I opened my mouth to ask a question, only to realize that for some reason, I had no voice. I closed my mouth and continued to look at the gem, watching as the gem started to flicker as if it was a heartbeat.
What was this..? What was going on?
"Trust those that are near you, for they will have your best interests at heart. But more importantly, trust yourself. You have the keys to find what your heart desires, but you have to trust yourself before you can find them."
Has this happened to Eira? Why can't I say anything or ask my questions to it? Who is the person that is talking to me?
I walked closer to the pedestal and stopped in front of it before I reached out to touch the gem with shaking hands.
"Learn the secrets of the dark and find the truth of the light. Follow your heart and listen to it. It will not lead you astray."
I took a deep breath and released it with a small whoosh. My hand continued to shake while I continued to reach for the gem, praying that nothing bad would happen to me when I touched it.
"Take a deep breath and release it. Touch the gem and seal your fate. You will learn all that you need to learn until you meet us and take your place as a Princess amongst Gods. Good luck."
I did what I was told to do and took a deep breath before I released it with a small whoosh. I grabbed my gem and sealed my fate, and everything turned black while the whole world started to spin.
Oh, Gods, protect me...

"Again, Eira?" someone asked, and annoyance and amusement filled their voice. "Why do you think that you have to cover their heads when you all "leave" the safety of the box? Did that traumatize you so badly that you have to do it for every single person?"
Something on top of me moved off of me, and I couldn't help but open my eyes and look in the direction to see that Eira was near me but not on top of me like the person had suggested.
Eira stared at the person who had asked those questions, and I turned to look that way to see that the man, David, was standing there with his arms folded across his chest and a scowl on his face. "Yes," she said and nodded, offering him a warm smile before she turned to look at me, growing concerned. "Are you ok? Are you hurt?"
I blinked and blinked, biting back a small frown while I grew confused. I didn't say a word and cocked my head to the side while I stared at her, not knowing what she was talking about and why she asked me if I was ok.
"You were put back under a different trance when we were in the box before you touched your stone," she explained when I didn't say a word, and I raised an eyebrow in question. "It looked like you were trying to say something, but you did not actively say anything. Do you know what happened and why you did it?"
I hesitated and looked at the box before I looked at her. I didn't say a word while I looked at her, not knowing what she meant and if something did happen to me because I had no idea what she was talking about.
"You were glowing, Zanaya," Eira said and tucked her head closer to her chest, and a small frown appeared on his face. "Do you seriously not know what happened?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.
I hesitated and shook my head. "No," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. I cleared my throat and licked my lips, shifting on my feet and hesitating ever so slightly. "I do not."
Eira slowly nodded, and there was a look in her eyes as if to say she didn't believe me, but she didn't say a word out loud. She made sure that I was safe before she looked at David. "Now, you may put it back where it belongs when it isn't in use," she said and gestured to the box, and David looked at it before he looked at her. "However, Zanaya does want to look at it after she has eaten and slept." She flashed me a small smirk and a wink before she looked at David, growing serious.
David frowned and slowly blinked. He looked between the two of us before he looked at Eira. "And?" he asked and raised an eyebrow in question before he looked at me. "Why do you want to look at the box?"
I opened my mouth to answer his question before I closed it because I had no idea why I wanted to look at the box, but I knew that I had to. I pressed my lips into a thin line and shrugged with a small grimace before I looked at Eira, silently praying that she would know why I needed to look at the box.
"Well, there could be a way to find out where Yervon is with the help of the box," Eira said and shrugged before she looked at me. "But we will worry about that in the morning, so let's go ahead and eat before we go to bed," she said, interrupting me when I opened my mouth to ask if I could look at it now.
Oh...
I closed my mouth and pressed my lips into a thin line without saying a word, and a small blush appeared on my face.
David nodded and grabbed the box before he looked at me, and he smiled while he tucked his head closer to his chest. "I will get you the box when you want to look at it tomorrow, Zanaya," he said and walked over to the shelf to put it up. "Eira, are you going to be with her?" he asked and looked at her from the corner of his eye.
"Yes," she said and nodded in confirmation. "I wil be watching her get that done after we wake up and have some breakfast."
"But you are not helping her on your own. Is that understood?" He looked at her and scowled, narrowing his eyes while his eyes flashed to a different color, and Eira smirked and tucked her head closer to her chest. "Is that understood?" he asked when she didn't say a word.
The Ice Holder bit back a small laugh before she slowly nodded, silently telling him that she understood. "It is," she said, and a small smile appeared on her face while sadness flashed through her eyes. "However, if I need to do this on my own with Zanaya, then unfortunately, I have to do it on my own."
"Ab-"
"Daniel, it's going to have to be that way," she said, interrupting the other man with a shake of her head. Her smile turned sadder, and a look of pain flashed through her eyes, chasing away the sadness that was there minutes before. "If they wish it, then it shall be done. However, we will make sure that we stay alive and not get killed by whatever it is that we are facing."
The female smiled and bowed her head before she lifted her head and looked at us. Pain and sadness filled her eyes, and they turned it to a darker shade of blue, glistening like sapphires underneath an unknown power she held underneath her skin. "You have our word."
