I took a deep breath and released it with a small whoosh before I moved a hand through my hair and across my face, shaking my head when my group stared at me with wide eyes, and a look of fear and worry filled their eyes while they did so. "It doesn't matter now, anyway," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet. "We have to wait for the first thing to happen before we can start finding a way to Yervon, anyway."

"What do you mean?" Zanaya asked and furrowed her brows. She cocked her head to the side and studied me, pressing her lips into a thin line with worry flashing through her eyes. "What has to happen first?"

I shrugged and grimaced because I had no idea what we needed to find first but knew that we had to wait until it happened. "I don't know," I admitted, and my cheeks turned red. "I just know that we have to wait for something before we begin."

"Well, we are here if you need us, Eira," Laura said, interrupting David from saying something to me. She looked at him and scowled, narrowing her eyes before she looked at me, and her gaze grew softer. "Food is ready for both you and Zanaya. After that, go ahead and get some rest while you wait."

I breathed a small sigh of relief and slowly nodded, grateful that they weren't going to push me into revealing what I was thinking. "Thank you," I said and looked at Zanaya, biting back a small smile. "We will show you your room and then the bathroom when we are done eating. Do you have anything that you are allergic to, Zanaya?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

Zanaya shook her head and pressed her lips into a thin line. "Not that I know of," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you." Her shoulders sagged with relief, and I could tell that she was happy that we were going to get something to eat and then have her fall asleep. "Do we have to share rooms?"

I shook my head no, biting back a small smile. "We have enough rooms for everyone," I said, gesturing for her to follow me and starting to walk to the kitchen with Zanaya and Daniel following behind me. "Daniel is sleeping in the same room as me so that opens up a room."

"So are you two a couple?" Zanaya asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She looked between the two of us with wide eyes filled with curiosity and wonderment before she looked at me. "Is that what you are saying?"

I shrugged and grimaced, biting back an amused smile before I turned to look at Daniel. "Are we?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and Daniel rolled his eyes and scowled, narrowing his eyes.

"What do you think, Eira?" he asked coldly and raised an eyebrow in question, and I bit back an amused grin and shrugged.

Daniel sighed and rolled his eyes, pressing his lips into a thin line. He grabbed my wrist and turned me toward him with a small pull on my wrist, stopping me before I was able to get some food. "Or do I need to show you that you are mine again?" He raised an eyebrow in question, and I couldn't help but bite back a small laugh while I placed my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist.

"M-"

"I thought I told you two not to have any sex with each other," David said, interrupting me from saying anything to my boyfriend. He was still in the dining room with Laura, and I knew that they were talking quietly with each other about something and what I had told them. "If I hear that you two have been having sex with each other, then I will force Daniel back into his own room."

"Well, he doesn't have a room, David," I said and rolled my eyes, laughing. "His room is my room, so he can't go anywhere."

"And there is no sex going on," Daniel said, and he looked toward the way that David was located before he looked at me. He raised an eyebrow in question, and I mimicked him and raised an eyebrow in question. "Now, do I have to show you that we are together?" he asked and brushed his lips against mine.

My whole body grew super aware of him, and the hair on the back of my neck stood at attention. My heart skipped a beat before it started to pound hard and fast in my chest, and I tried to keep my composure while I stared at him, silently waiting to see what he wanted to do.

Oh, Gods...

My mouth grew dry, and all I wanted to do was kiss him, but I knew that he would pull away as soon as I pressed my lips against his because he wanted me to answer his question before he kissed me.

"Would you two knock it out?" David asked. "I have no idea what you two are doing, but I must remind you two that you do have someone else in the room with you, who isn't used to all of this while the rest of us are."

Daniel closed his eyes, and annoyance flashed across his face. He didn't say a word and rested his head against mine, and I couldn't help but steal a quick kiss from him before I pulled away from him with a small smug look on my face.

I went to the cupboard and pulled out two bowls from it, and my stomach growled in anticipation at the food that had been made for us. "Did you want something to drink, Zanaya?" I asked and set the bowls on the counter before I went to grab a few cups for us.

"Please," Zanaya said and nodded, biting the inside of her lip. She cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "What do you have to drink?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question, grabbing her stone tighter in her hand and not putting it around her neck.

"Water, sodas, juices, and a lot of other stuff besides alcohol," I said and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. "Would anything like that work for you?" I cocked my head and turned to look at her with a raised eyebrow in question.

"Water will be fine, thank you," she said and nodded. She looked at the bowl and then looked at me with wide eyes filled with worry and nervousness. "Am I allowed to serve myself?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, and I nodded.

"Go ahead," I said and set the cups down before I walked over to the fridge so that I could get a jug of water that we used for drinking water. "Feel free to help yourself to anything inside of the house, drink or food wise. David and Laura try to keep everything stocked for us, even though we basically eat them out of house and home."

"And it's mainly because of Eira," David said, and I rolled my eyes and bit back a small amused smile because a part of that was true because I did eat a little more than others, especially since I was normally on the go, trying to make sure that the three places we had access to were safe and no dangers were hiding in the corners.

But we needed to go to Linthia and make sure that everything there was fine soon...

Both David and Laura walked into the kitchen and leaned against the counter with their arms barely touching each other, and they seemed to ignore the curious glance that I sent their way.

"No, I think it might be because of Daniel," Laura said and shook her head. She looked at him and bit back a small smirk and a wink before she looked at Zanaya. "He burns through a lot of energy, especially when he works on his powers or trains."

"Anyway, you do not have to worry about asking for food or stuff like that. You can just grab what you want." I shrugged and grimaced, pressing my lips into a thin line. "Except for stuff that has been marked as who it belongs to. Those are the things that you can't eat, and you are allowed to mark food as yours too. No one will eat it." I gestured toward the stone in her hands. "Also, go ahead and put the stone around your neck before you eat. I don't want you to lose it."

Zanaya hesitated before she slowly nodded, offering me a small smile. "Ok," she said and cleared her throat while she did what I told her to do and placed the necklace around her neck and stuck the gem under her shirt before she started to get some food. "Thank you, Eira, for everything. I do appreciate it a lot."

My heart grew warm, and I offered her a tight smile before I slowly nodded while I finished with the water before I placed it up. "Of course," I said. "Anything for you, Zanaya."

Anything for you...
