PARINIDHI

"What did Devansh say?" I asked Michael as he approached the car, desperately hoping he had brought some words of comfort from Devansh.

Michael looked up, and for the first time, I saw raw pain in his eyes. It was clear that Devansh's trust in him had been shattered because of me, and I felt a profound sense of shame. I couldn't meet his gaze and murmured, "I'm sorry."

Michael remained silent for a moment, letting out a heavy sigh before speaking. "Please don't apologize, ma'am. I'm not angry with you, but you need to understand something crucial. By risking your life, you're not only endangering yourself—you're also risking Sir's life."

My heart tightened at his words. I looked up, about to respond, but he continued, "Do you know how fast Sir drove to get here? I was tracking his live location. He was driving at 250 km/h, racing against time to ensure nothing happened to you or Ansh baby."

My hand flew to my mouth in shock, my eyes widening as I struggled to comprehend the gravity of his words.

I saw tears forming in the corners of Michael's eyes. I blinked rapidly, trying to confirm what I was seeing. It was true—he was crying. For the first time, I saw tears in his eyes.

He swallowed hard, his voice trembling. "Ma'am, Boss loves you deeply. Everyone can see that love. Can't you? Even on that day, when he was shot, you left him to die. I never thought I'd say this, and I don't have the right to, but you don't deserve my boss."

His words shattered my heart. Tears welled up in my eyes, my lips trembled, and I was on the brink of breaking down. His words echoed in my mind, amplifying my anguish with every repetition.

"Even now, he's in jail because of you, yet he's worried about you. He asked me to take you and Anshika to the doctor because he knew you both would be traumatized by everything that happened today," Michael said, his voice tinged with pain and irritation. Without another word, he got into the car and took the driver's seat.

I stood there, overwhelmed by the weight of my actions and the hurt I had caused Devansh. The burden on my heart was heavy and unbearable.

"Bhabhi," Anshika's voice broke through my thoughts. She touched my hand, her tear-streaked face reflecting her fear. Steeling myself, I guided her into the car. Rahul took the passenger seat, and Michael started driving immediately.

Anshika clung to me, her head resting on my chest. Her body trembled slightly, the day's events clearly taking their toll on her.

Michael drove straight to the hospital. As soon as we arrived, we all exited the car and hurried inside.

On the first floor, as Anshika and I were about to enter the doctor's cabin, Michael stepped forward to Anshika. I instinctively took a step back.

Michael gently placed his hand on Anshika's head, his voice soft and unfamiliar. "You didn't kill him, so don't carry this fear and guilt inside you."

"But I shot him—" Anshika began, but Michael gently interrupted, "You shot him, but he was still alive. Boss killed him. He asked me to tell you this, so don't blame yourself for his death, okay?"

Anshika blinked rapidly, struggling to hold back her tears, and nodded slightly. We both entered the doctor's cabin, where I requested only Anshika's check-up. I didn't need one myself; I was fine and didn't require any examination.

DEVANSH

I was led out of the police van and into the station, where they locked me in a cell. With no immediate paperwork or criminal charges against me, I settled onto a bench inside the cell and began to plan my next steps.
