I Don't Know What Au This Is But It's Not My Main Au!!

Zander's POV🍇:
The muffled pre-concert songs surround the stadium behind the curtain. Recently, our school informed us about a new competition they're hosting, but it's against other teenage bands from other schools. Apparently, all the groups must have potential to become a famous band in the future, so we got offered a part. Of course we agreed to go through with it, but the whole ordeal is quite nerve-wracking. Backstage, me and the club are preparing. I'm practicing on my piano, pressing keys in perfect harmony. Though it's difficult to focus as Luke's stood next to me, arms crossed as he softly smiles at me, examining my playing. Out of the corner of my eye, I can make out the rest of the club. Jake is downing his water bottle idiotically, soon enough he's going to begin whining to go to the restroom. Besides him, Hailey is warming up her voice, her tone going high and low. Milly is sat on the floor, legs crossed and her guitar placed in her lap, plucking at the strings absentmindedly. Finally, Sean is on his laptop, searching through his files so he can retrieve the recording for the competition. The staff already moved Luke's drums and Sean's set up onto the stage because they're impossible for us to carry normally, unlike the microphones and other instruments. My piano (keyboard) folds so I can bring it with me when we enter the stage. Suddenly, a voice alerts us, "Ten minutes till show time!" I lift my hands off my piano, releasing a stressed sigh. Luke notices and lies his hand on my back, rubbing it soothingly. "Hey, are you alright?" I give him a slight smile, nodding. "Yeah, just nervous." He thinks for a moment, before smiling brightly at me whilst he suggests his thoughts. "Want a hug?" He puts his arms out, gesturing for me to hug him. I roll my eyes playfully and shuffle closer to him, accepting his hug as I wrap my arms around him. He buries his face in my hair and mumbles, "Better?" I nod, "Very." Just as I begin to melt into the embrace, the sound of someone's footsteps seem to be nearer and a voice follows it. "Alright lovebirds, you can stop now." I instantly let go of Luke, feeling my face heat up with embarrassment. I turn my head to glare at the interruption, and I spot Hailey, who's raising her eyebrows up and down. I sigh, annoyed. "What do you want?" She smiles innocently, like she didn't just ruin my moment. "One of the staff members told me to notify you that you have a visitor. They wouldn't tell me who though, apparently the person wanted to keep their identity a secret." I raise an eyebrow, "That sounds suspicious, I don't remember inviting anyone in particular..." She shrugs, "I'd go look anyway, it sounded like the person needed to see you before we go on, which is in five minutes." I nod, curiosity overcoming me. Luke doesn't seem so certain and he grabs my hand. "Are you sure? It could be anyone..." I smile at his cautiousness, "It'll be fine, Luke. I'll be careful." Concern fills his face, "But what if they do something to you?! You could get hurt!" I kiss his cheek reassuringly, "I can fend for myself, don't worry." He considers it, before reluctantly nodding. "Alright, fine... just be quick." I slide my hand out of his and begin to walk to the exit door, but freeze when a hand grabs my shoulder. I glance behind me and spot a worried Hailey, "Do be careful, I'm not having you get injured right before a performance." I chuckle slightly, "Yeah, yeah, I got it. I'm not stupid, you know?" She rolls her eyes, "Just being a good sister." I turn back to the direction of the door, hearing Hailey shout, "Come back in less than three minutes!" I give her a thumbs up and creak the door open, stepping out into the night.

I don't realise how much built up warmth is backstage until I breathe in the fresh, cold air. The little white dots in the sky are shining down onto the muddy surface, which I try to avoid since I got my shoes polished. Once I reach the pavement, I begin my search for this visitor, my footsteps echoing around the eerie evening. Suddenly, I see a person with ombré purple hair, pretty much identical to mine. They have their back to me, so I clear my throat to gain their attention. "Um, hello...?" They turn their head around, a wide grin plastered on their face. It takes me a few blinks to remind myself of that face, but once I do, I gasp. The person chuckles, amused by my reaction. "Hello son." Two opposite emotions merge in my mind: happiness and anger. The overpowering one being anger. "What are you doing here?" I cross my arms, raising an eyebrow. He smirks, "What? I can't come see my son after all these years?" I scoff, "After ten whole years, you mean?" He puts his hand to his heart dramatically, "Wow, after so long I'd think you'd at least tone down the frustration." I roll my eyes, "What do you actually want?" He chuckles again, "You know me so well. Well, I'm here to make an offer." I expect him to continue without my answer, but it seems he wants my input. I sigh, "Go on. I don't have all day." His grin resurfaces, "Work for me." My eyes widen slightly, "What? Why?" He moves his hands around a lot as he explains, "I own a modelling company a few hours away and my current star is not earning as much attention as I need to keep the business running. So I overheard the competition happening today and your name showed up in one of the bands, and so came an idea. In order to get the job your appearance needs to look a certain way and you need to have confidence, which you tick off all the boxes. And since you're my son, I thought you'd have the heart to assist me. What do you say? You'd get payed well and you have your own room to stay in, as well as personal maids." He sticks his hand out, making me laugh. "You do know I'm still a teenager, right? I'm doing this competition so I can guarantee myself a music career in the future. I'm not accepting your offer." He places his free hand on his hip, keeping his hand stuck out. "Then it's simple. I'll hurt your precious boyfriend Luke." I freeze, all my muscles tensing up. "How do you know about him?" He shrugs, "Quite a fair amount of people from your school talk about him, and of course since you're his partner, you come up in the conversations." I stay silent for a moment, before mumbling, "What do you mean you'll 'hurt him'?" He nods to his hand, "That's for you to figure out if you don't cooperate." I glance to the building behind me, knowing I could still decline him, but I know he doesn't take back what he says. I sigh, For Luke's safety. I gloomily shake his hand, regret flooding my mood. His grin widens and he slips his hand out of mine. "Great. Now come on, I still need to fire my previous hire." He turns on his heels, beckoning for me to follow him. I guiltily trudge beside him, spacing out as he rambles about the failed model.

Hailey's POV🎤:
"What is taking him so long?!" I tap my foot on the ground impatiently. "I told him to be back in less than three minutes, it's been ten!" Luke's fiddling with his fingers, seemingly anxious about Zander's absence. "It's not like Zander to not show up on time... I should go check on him." I put my hand on Luke's shoulder, stopping him from moving any further. "No, Luke, we're already late to go on, you can't go too. I'm sure he's just caught up in conversation or something." Milly, who's staring out the window to the space where Zander should be, shakes her head. "I wouldn't be so sure of that." Jake shoves his way into the problem, raising an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" Milly gulps, "He's not there." Sean grabs the USB from his laptop with the song in, putting it in his pocket as he speaks up, "What do you mean not there? Like he left?" Luke vigorously shakes his head, "He wouldn't just leave! Somethings obviously happened!" I nod in agreement, an uncomfortable nervousness swishing in my stomach. "Luke's right, maybe we should go look-" I get cut off by a member of staff, "Right, if you guys don't show up soon, the next lot are playing." I smile at them apologetically, "Sorry! We're coming now!" Once they walk away, I sigh and begin walking to the curtain, motioning for everyone to do the same. Hesitantly, they all gather round, listening to my words of encouragement. "Okay, Zander's sudden disappearance is alarming, I know. But, as he said, he can fend for himself and after this performance we can try to contact him, alright?" They all nod and I step aside, opening the curtain for them. "Let's do this!" One by one, they all pile onto the stage, Luke going last. However, he pauses before stepping foot into the spotlight, his body language tense. I put my other hand on his shoulder, attempting to comfort him. "Look, I'm just as worried for him as you are, but this show is less than an hour long. Just... try to focus, okay?" He gradually nods, letting out a long sigh. Eventually, he creeps out onto the stage and hoists himself onto his stool, grasping his drumsticks. I follow him out, clutching onto my microphone. Where did you get to, Zander?

A/N: In my future au, Zander does get a part time job as a model, but the reason why this is a different au is because it didn't happen like this. Zander never saw his biological dad after the divorce. However, the school hosting another competition did happen, that's how the club started out before becoming famous. Anywho, credits to my friend gxrddd for the idea!!
