Yandere Zander Au!!
Zander's POV🎹:
I press my fingers against my piano keys, the pressure making a calming symphony. The clubs multiple instruments blend in with mine, Jake's voice giving it the final touch. I glance around the room, multitasking whilst continuing my piano playing. Luke's drums catch my attention, considering they're the loudest instrument we have. However, it's not the drums that I stare at, it's the person using it, which is of course Luke. At first, I get lost in his eyes, the golden hue somehow sparkling more than usual. My gaze drifts down to his mouth, practically adoring the beaming grin plastered on his face. Finally, I examine his drumming, admiring how carelessly he spins the drumsticks around in his palms. I blink back to reality when I almost mess up, my fingers seemingly drifting away from their concentrated state. Quite messily, I try to mend my mistake, vigorously pressing the keys. Luke appears to notice my change in posture, my shoulders tensing as I furrow my eyebrows, determined not to screw up the whole song. He whisper-shouts my name, loud enough so I hear it but calculated correctly so the others can't. I raise an eyebrow, motioning for him to continue. 'Are you okay?' He mouths, a concerned expression consuming his previous happiness. I smile slightly, giving him a quick thumbs up before returning to my focused face. He gives me an unconvinced nod and hits the drums some more, not looking as joyful as he once was.
Milly's repetitive clapping fills up the now eerily silent room, since it's deafeningly loud when we're rehearsing. "WE DID AMAZING!" She exclaims, jumping up and down cheerfully on the spot. "Yeah, that was pretty impressive!" Hailey replies, fist-bumping Jake as his request. Sean rises from his seat, placing his hands on his hips. "It's all coming together nicely. I'm sure we'll smash the competition!" Milly smirks, resting her guitar on the wall. "And what was that about me jinxing it?" Jake chuckles, securely attaching his microphone to the stand. "Sean's right though, Mil. Hailey really did a good job at perfecting it!" He swings his arm around Hailey's shoulder, making her cheeks go a faint crimson. "T-Thanks..." She smiles shyly, receiving many compliments from the three of them. Meanwhile, I flick the switch off to silence my piano (keyboard), tapping the screen of my watch to gain knowledge of the current time. 12:56pm. Afternoon classes begin soon, I suppose I shouldn't waist these four minutes left of free period. As if on cue, I hear a soothing voice emerge from behind me. "Hey, Zan?" I spin around, placing a hand on my hip. "Yeah Luke?" I smile up at him, thrilled his attention is on me. "Were you alright earlier? You seemed to be having some problem preforming, which isn't like you at all. What's on your mind?" I feel uncomfortably hot all of a sudden, and I attempt to blurt out an excuse. "I-It's nothing, really! I just lost focus!" He lies his hand on my shoulder, leaning slightly closer. "You sure? You can always tell me when you're going through something, you know?" I clear my throat, "Yeah! I'm sure!" I stare into his endless eyes, the butterscotch shine complementing my periwinkle. His cheeks light up, our complexions now mirroring each others. Without noticing, I hesitantly shuffle closer, hinting what I want. I simply cross my arms, unsure if he's getting the hint or not. He seems to tense up as his grip on my shoulder tightens, his somewhat loving gaze never tearing from mine. Unfortunately, the moment was ruined by a scolding voice. "Hey! Get a room! No one wants to see that!" Luke flinches back from me, avoiding all eye contact as he rubs the back of his neck nervously. I scoff, turning my head to look for the source of interruption. Unsurprisingly, Milly is pulling a disgusted face with Hailey behind her, appearing to reach out to Milly to stop her before she spoke, but finding out it was too late. I'm about to give Milly the gift of my wrath, but Luke beats me to it, beginning his statement first. "Um, I-I'll meet you outside, Zan..." Before I can recommend him to stay, he stumbles past me, accidentally knocking me to the side a smidge. As soon as I hear the door click closed, I release a half sigh, half groan, mainly aimed at Milly. Hailey puts her hand to her heart apologetically, "I'm sorry, Zander... I tried to stop her-" I cut her off, putting my hand up. "It's fine! Don't bring it up again." I storm out of the room, slamming it closed behind me. I freeze outside the door, taking notice of my clenched fists. I close my eyes and take a few deep breaths, the anger and hatred flooding out as my hands reluctantly open. The realistic side of what I just did sunk into me, and I realise I snapped again. I almost felt like smacking myself, What Milly did was just a harmless joke, there was no need to overreact. I'll go apologise- As I turn on my heels to enter the music club once again, I spot a blood boiling scene happening beside me, a few feet away. From the corner of my narrowed eye, I can see Luke and that girl again, Stacy. They seem to be having a one-sided conversation as Stacy is clung onto Luke's arm, squealing happily at him, obviously attempting to make a move. My eyes flick to see Luke's reaction, and my jealousy softens a bit when I see he's smiling rather uncomfortably at her, his body language screaming for her to back off. I sense my eye twitch and I decide to step in, a strained smile forced onto my face. "Luke! Are you ready to walk to class?" I ask, putting my arm out for him to take. His uncomfortable smile twists into a genuine one and he links his arm with mine, uncoiling Stacy's arm off him. She frowns, fiddling with her fingers disappointedly. Once Luke has said his goodbyes to her and turns his head away, I snap a glare at her, making her shiver slightly. As she wonders off down the hallway, I secretly make a promise about her to myself. You won't get away with this, take my word for it.
Once the day concludes, I'm about to walk back home with Hailey but I realise there was a book in the library that I saw today and it seemed like my type of genre, so I informed her that I'll stop at the library for a while to collect the book. The double doors creak open, my shoes making soft banging noises on the wooden floor. Nearing the bookshelves, the noticeable scent of untouched books assault my nose, resulting in a warm smile forming on my face. I should really come here more often. I take in all the signs telling me where all the different genres are, and head for the horror section. The walk there was quite peaceful, just me and the books to accompany me. Or so I thought. Next to the horror books were the romance novels, which is where I discovered a companion. Stacy. She's sitting ever so innocently on a chair next to a bookshelf, flipping through the pages of her novel. Great, just who I wanted to see. I roll my eyes, pretending I didn't notice her as I reach up to grasp the horror book, skimming through the text on the back. Stacy tilts her head upwards and notices me, suddenly perking up. "Hey! You're Zander, right?" I stare at her, unamused. "Yeah... why?" An obnoxious blush paints her cheeks as she looks down, placing her closed book in her lap. "W-Well, I was just wondering if you could help me with something... regarding Luke." I raise an eyebrow, leaning on the bookshelf behind me. "Go on." She drums her thumbs on the book cover, making little thumping noises. "I'm assuming you know I like him... I don't exactly make it hard for people to figure out..." She chuckles lightly, before continuing. "And, I know you're like... his best friend and everything so I was thinking... could you help me ask him out?" I clutch tightly onto my book, refraining from using any violence. "Sorry, no." Her positive mood dissolves, "Oh... how come?" I walk over to her, glaring. "There'd be no point, because he simply doesn't return your feelings." She looks down, mumbling. "Oh, okay. Thanks...!" I smile, satisfied with her reaction. In that moment, my phone rings, the noise bouncing off the walls. I pull it out of my pocket, my negativity spilling out of me as I see Luke's contact. I instantly pick it up, putting it on speaker as I talk into it. "Hey Luke!" Stacy snaps her head up at the mention of her crush and raises an eyebrow, obviously eavesdropping. "Hey Zan! I know I didn't get to walk with you and Hale today since my mum needed me, so I thought I'd call you to see how you are!" I smile, feeling my heart melt at his thoughtfulness. "I'm fine! I made a visit to the library anyway so Hailey walked home alone." Exiting the library, I smirk, proud of myself as I ditch the speechless Stacy in there alone. Honestly, she's lucky. I would've killed her then and there if I had my knife on me...
A/N: Just to note, Zander would never flirt like he did (since he'd get way too flustered), snap so easily or leave Hailey to walk home alone, it's just because it's the yandere au and it affects his personality in that way. Anyway, I suppose this is a 100+ reads special!! Literally thank you so much for all the reads, it means a lot to me <3 Alright, I'll stop being cringy now.
