Chloe’s POV
After separating from Red and her mom, she leads her parents on a bench under a pink magnolia tree. She waits for them to sit down, that‘s when she starts pacing around causing her parents to worry.
“Is there something wrong, baby?” Ella says as calmly as she can.
“You can tell us anything, we'll be here for you.” Charming smiles softly.
She stops pacing and turns her back away from her parents. Inhaling sharply as she gathers all her words together. “I've been wanting to tell you this for years now, and I'm scared if you guys won't look at me the same if you knew. All these years I've pushed my feelings down because when you tell me those stories of how princesses are supposed to find their princes, I always thought you meant that I need to be with a prince.”
Her lips trembled as she turned to face them but her eyes glued to the ground, staring at the shoes, Red gave her. “Mom, dad. I like girls, I've always liked girls but most importantly, I love Red and I- I'm sorry if it didn't turn out like you hoped for.”
“I hope you still see me as your Chloe and not anybody else.” She looks up and sees her parents smiling tearfully, they walk to her and engulf her into a tight embrace. Feeling both her mom and dad kiss her forehead, they pull away with their smile permanent on their faces.
“Honestly, I'm actually glad it's Red and not some prince. No prince deserves my daughter anyways.” Her dad jokes, causing her mother to mildly elbow him on his side.
“Thank you for telling us, baby.” Ella softly said. “I did, however, guess it was Red who caught your eye. Even as kids, she's all you ever talk about, and I doubt she could beat you at push ups.”
If her face could get any warmer it would, she tried covering her face but her dad gave her mom a questioning look.
“Don't worry darling, I'll tell you later. Aside from that, she gave you shoes.”
Charming's eyes grew wide upon hearing that Red gave her daughter shoes. He celebrated so loudly that it surprised her and her mom. “Red gave you shoes?”
“Yeah, I accidentally broke the glass shoes mom gave me, so she stole a pair and gave it to me.” She smiles at the memory of Red pushing a frozen Hook to the ground at Merlin's office.
“She gave you shoes! My little girl is all grown up!” Charming exclaimed as he hugged her again. “When are we having the wedding?”
Her eyes widened as she pulled away. “What? Wedding? We aren't even dating, dad.”
“Yet.” Her dad winks.
“Yet.“ She echoes as her heart raced and her smile widened.
Ella and Charming looked at each other for a moment, her dad chuckles. “Did you forget when I gave your mother those glass shoes? We got married after.”
Her mouth gaped and her cheeks grew warm. “Dad, we’re sixteen…” She purses her lips then sighed. “And I didn't tell her about that because I didn’t know she liked me back and I know for sure she's not ready for that.”
She sees her dad nod in understanding as Ella moves towards her and takes her hands. “Oh baby, from what I can see Red holds you in her heart very dearly and I know you do too. In time, everything will fall into place.”
“Know in your heart, we’ll always be here to support you. We love you, honey.” Charming smiles, pinching her chin slightly.
She grinned as wide as she could and gave her parents one last hug. Ella laughs softly when she lets them go. “I advise you to tell Red about the shoes later.”
