Chloe's POV
She could feel her heart pounding against her chest as she anxiously watched out the window and excitedly waited for Red and her mom to arrive. She could hear Chad laughing at her in the other room, she rolls her eyes and lets it linger outside the window pane before spotting a familiar car pulling up in their driveway. Spotting her girlfriend in the passenger who looks like she's gonna have a heart attack if the car moved any further, she laughs as she removes herself off the couch and runs out the door before her parents could even reach the door handle. Running down the stairs as if it was a ramp, she spots Red waiting for her at the end of it.
“Red!” She exclaims with laughter.
Happily wrapping her arms around her waist and twirled her around causing her to laugh while telling her to put her down. Gently setting her on the ground, she finally notices the outfit her girlfriend has on that made her mouth gape and blink her eyes a few times.
“Wow! This is new.” She stammers, her eyes still glancing up and down.
Red holds the ends of the skirt and jokingly curtsied.
“You're- this- I- I'm speechless.” She breathes out.
“You like it?” The girl smirks.
“Love, ‘like’ is a huge understatement.” Her mouth gaped, earning a snicker from Chad.
She feels Red's finger lift up her chin. “Baby, my eyes are up here.”
Their eyes met and she saw that familiar red glint in her eyes, she couldn‘t help but melt at the sight. Smiling, she pulls her in, cupping her cheek and kisses her before remembering that their parents were watching them but she could care less about that and more on her beautiful girlfriend.
Red pulls away and mutters against her lips. “Chloe, our families are watching.”
“But I missed you.” She pouts.
“Gods, lil’ sis you just saw her yesterday.” Chad laughs.
“Leave your sister alone, son.” Charming chuckles, patting Chad on the back and walking towards Bridget, who was already mid-conversation with Ella.
She tries to reach for Red's hand but stops when she notices the box she was holding. Raising her brow and pointing at the object. “What's that, Hearts?”
Watching Red shyly smile sent cartwheels through her heart as she gently pushed it towards her. “A little gift, but open it later when we're alone, okay?”
Grinning, she couldn't help but be intrigued at the content of the box. “Hmm, now I'm really curious about what's inside.”
“Girls, we know you both miss each other a lot but let's move this inside, okay?” Bridget softly laughs as they all walk along the stairs, leaving both of them slightly behind.
Clutching the box on her side and intertwining her free hand to Red's, they sway their hands as they reach the castle and meet up with everyone in the living room. She sees Bridget smiles at her brightly when Red lays her head on her shoulder releasing a contented sigh after they sit down on the couch with their fingers still laced together. They were in their own little world, drowning out their families conversations to the point she excused themselves to head up to her room. It wouldn't be complete without their parents telling them to leave the door open causing them to shyly look away from each other.
Finally, alone with Red again, she watches her plop down on her bed while pulling her with her and letting her lay on top of her.
“Red!” She screams in a whisper. “In case you forgot, our parents are just downstairs.”
