"There's nothing that hurts the haters more than to see you smiling so why don't you turn that little frown upside down and SMILE"
Amal's POV
"Anaya's voice was sharp with disdain as she sneered, "Ah, I see you've started wearing that rag on your head again."
I glanced up at her, my face carefully blank, though I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks. Zach was beside me, looking more bored than anything, but I knew him well enough to see the tension in his jaw. Anaya really had no idea when to quit, did she? "You know," I said, my voice as flat as possible, "sometimes it almost seems like that tiny brain of yours had already dissolved along with the existence of dinosaurs in our world."
Zach's eyes widen in disbelief, and he chokes on a laugh due to shock at my sudden reply, While Anaya's minions just stared at me like I'd grown a second head out of the blue.
Did they really think that I'd keep on staying silent forever?, how awfully naive for them to think so when i never gave up on sarcasm each time, sure I've never been this level of verbally abusive before but Just because I've been putting up with their venomous little comments for so long but that doesn't mean that I'm some kind of doormat that they could just randomly step on for fun. I was done playing nice for the sake of keeping the peace, a kind of peace that i had craved from their looming presence but had never received.
I couldn't let them get to me no more, Especially not now that I've finally been able to get such a supportive a friend like Zachary, who tells me that my keeping quiet isn't always the answer for real especially with the likes of her or any type of bully.
A friend like Zach who is more than willing to tell me that I don't have to try so hard nor to force myself to receive any mental beating all in the name of fitting in,
A friend like Zachary who was more than willing to show me exactly what the word friendship means....so of course With Zach standing by my side, of course I'm ready to strike back at her and her minions with absolute pleasure... hopefully I'm not being too dependent.
"What did you just say, you little terrorist?" Anaya shrieked, her voice rising in disbelief. It was almost funny how thrown she seemed to be. Did she really think that her words still had any power over me?, yes it hurt me but that's it, I'm not about to allow her even attempt once again to try and change me.
Before I could respond, Zach jumped in, his tone just as mocking as mine as he sends her a false smile.
"Oh, please, grow up and leave while you still have a shred of dignity left. I mean Do you even know what 'terrorist' means, or is it just a word you use to try and attention? You know, little Miss 'I'm too cool for everyone else,' but secretly dying inside?, trust me when i say i know the type of you"
Her face was priceless—shock and humiliation flickering across her features as if Zach's words had successfully hit home. I couldn't resist adding a little more salt on her wound, I don't even know if that's wickedness on my side but I added it on anyway. "and If you actually knew what 'terrorist' means, perhaps your brain might still be around, unlike those poor dinosaurs who had a better personality over bullies like you" Zach chokes on his own laughter, not expecting me to keep up with the banter.
"Oooooooo" We both cheered each other on, before bursting out laughing while Anaya and her clique stood there, looking lost and stunned into silence. For once, they all seem to look unsure, almost lost at the fact that i had a voice, and I could see the cracks forming in their carefully constructed facades.
Anaya's glare could've cut through steel, her frustration and embarrassment clear as day. But instead of fighting back, she did something completely out of character. "Weirdos," she spat, her voice shaking with rage, before storming off, her little group of girlfriends trailing after her like a set of lost puppies.
