"You never know how long you are got to go so always try to push past your limits because time is running out"
Third person's POV
Let's recap, he thinks, remembering the day after he dropped Amal off and went over to Sam's.
"Okay, So what's the next step now?" Sam asks after they manage to escape dinner with Mom, who was relentless in trying to deliver that awkward talk about "the talk." Zach lets out a tired sigh.
'' I honestly dont know Sam, right now I'm confused" Zach groans, collapsing onto the bed as if he's carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders.
"oh but Zachary It's nothing to be confused about, it is your life and you're 18 already, no one should have a say as to what you get to choose now"
"I know"
"Good so now that you do, how many have you actually checked out?" Sam replies, lounging on the lower bunk, his casual demeanor contrasting sharply with the storm brewing inside Of his friend.
"Only the three minor ones I told you about" Zach replies making hand gestures his friend nods slowly.
"And which of the do you believe draws you in the most?" Sam asks as he grabs another one of his little brothers cookies, that he stole from rhe dinner table, "you're lucky no one noticed" Zach thinks to himself, shaking his head at his friends childish behavior.
"After all that research, I'm left questioning myself even more. I think I even confused the leaders with my questions," Zach admits, guilt washing over his expression and his friend just laughs at this.
"Okay Then why don't you just remain what you are?, that's easier I believe" Sam asks making Zach groan in frustration.
"Because I've started to believe there's something more out there, and it terrifies me," Zach confesses, his voice dropping to a whisper. The gravity of his thoughts weighs heavily, and he can't shake the feeling of being adrift in an ocean of uncertainty.
"And Is all of this because of Amal?" Sam asks curiously, waiting for his friend to shoot him a glare again but the boy just let's out a tired sigh.
"Partially but trust me, she didn't pressure me into anything, I was the one who had asked the questions that has now left me drowning in my own confusion" Zach states leaning downwards to snatch the box of cookie from Sam's hand making Sam send him a glare in irritation but really no malice was beside his glare.
"Why did you even decide to do that in the first place though?" Sam asks, a question that was a somewhat double edged sword, a double barreled question but Zach of course only replies to one of the question, choosing to ignore the other but Sam could see through his friend.
"I don't know, she was- is just so into it, I just had to ask questions to soothe my curiosity and the more question I asked the deeper I get lost" Zach says with a depressed sigh
"Well that's different" Sam says thoughtfully
"Have you checked out any of the main ones yet?" Sam asks, his tone turning serious, knowing Zach needs a gentle push.
"No, and honestly I don't even want to," Zach laughs nervously, shaking his head as if the very idea was absurd.
"Oh? And Why not?" Sam probes, genuinely puzzled, leaning forward in interest.
"Why do you think I'm doing this?" Zach shoots back, and Sam rolls his eyes at his friends attempt to retain his mysterious self,
"Then Why are you doing this sir?" Sam asked in a sarcastic tone.
