"Stop worrying over what hasn't happened yet, even if it all goes wrong, you'll eventually figure it out...you always have"Third persons POV
The next day, when Amal entered the classroom, she noticed everyone staring at her as if she were an alien. Determined not to let it affect her unlike it always used to, she scans the room until her eyes met his. His glance at her eas brief, almost as if he was barely looking at another face but barely a second later his gazes snaps back to meet hers, his eyes widened in shock as recognition finally hit him, making Her let out an awkward smile before hurriedly walking over, taking a seat next to him, she honestly stand the stares she was receiving.
"Hey, can stop staring at me like that?, it's unsettling" She mumbles to him while he just stares at her openly, he blinks before forcing his gaze away from staring at her so balantly.
"Sorry, I just ...wow..I totally was not expecting this" Zach states and the disbelief was still obvious on his face
"But like what do you think?, Do you like it?" she asks shyly as she plays with her hijab ends.
"Yes i do, but do you like it?" he asks her back because it was her choice, of course her opinion matters the most in such an instance, nothing changed about her to him, she still looked the same to him wel that's a lie, she did look a little different from what he was used to but regardless of the difference it was her eyes that was the reason he had recognized her at the second glance.
"Love it, actually" she says with a grin making him to grin back
"What's that your wearing on your face though? Like pure curiousity zero criticism" he couldn't help but ask, making Amal laugh at his attempt to not sound judgemental of her choice for the day.
""Yes, it's a niqab. I wore it today because I didn't want to faint from all the attention I'd get for wearing a headscarf," she explained. "I don't really like it much. But that aside, How did you recognize me, though?" she asked.
"Through your eyes" he states and she doesn't know how to take that comment, To be honest it almost feels like he knows her much more than she knows herself sometimes, it's kind of scary sometimes.
"Oh well, I recognized your face technically xeeva was yelling your name" She says jokingly trying to change the topic, making him raise a brow at her
"Oh?, who is this xeeva that you speak of?" He questions now obviously curious at the random name drop.
"Just a voice inside my head" Amal says without thinking making him send her a confused look.
"You mean you named your conscience, xeeva?" He asks in disbelief making her eyes to widen in realization, she mentally slaps her self for not thinking that one through.
"What!, uh of course not" she says defensively, suddenly it seemed like the two of them were back to having their nonsensical arguements again, with Amal trying to pretend she didn't say her conscience had a name and Zach trying to get her to admit it again, simply for the jokes.
"You know, I didn't recognize you at first," Sam said, interrupting the two with a grin. "But then I heard your arguments. You're the only one this knucklehead ever bothers to argue with." He pointed at Zach, who promptly kicked Sam's chair and muttered, "Watch it, smartass." Amal laughs at the two.
"I'm taking this off" Amal mutters to no one in particular as she lifts face cover up.
"Well, that doesn't change anything for me. You're still the same old annoying Amal," Zach said, staring at her. Amal felt her cheeks flush bright red, wishing her light skin wouldn't betray her nervousness. She quickly looked away, feeling more self-conscious than ever.
