Third person's POV
Who are you when there's nobody's watching?
"
"Oh shoot" Zach groans as notices the black notebook inside his backpack, that was something that he was supposed to give Amal yesterday, that was one of the reasons that he had gone over to her table yesterday, or at least one out of the many reasons that he had no idea about.
"Is everything okay, with you Zee?" His grandma asks, peeking into his room which was an odd shade of maroon, It was just right for him. While his grandma said his room looked like something coming straight out of a satanic movie which also explains why she never really enters his room...funny how a supposed atheist who doesn't believe in the existence of God, seemed to be disturbed by the idea of something looking satanic...well that's his grandma alright, Zach thinks to himself before letting out a laugh.
You may be thinking that hey maybe that is to his own advantage as he gets to wake up whenever he pleases but trust me, no it really isn't, not when he had a big sister who loved to bug him by running into his dark room to scare him awake while using all of the weirdest tricks and methods out there, he honestly would currently prefer waking up to the sound of his alarm clock instead...and that's what he does nowadays, waking up before anyone, we can blame that on his state of mind on some days.
"Oh you're up and ready?., Did Camila wake you up?" Grandma asks now taking two steps into the room, while her son adjusts his bed spread.
"Of course not! Ma, I woke up as soon as I heard her footsteps and scared her instead" he says with a smirk while zipping up my backpack making his grandma let out a laugh at that while shaking her head, Zach just simply grins at the sight.
For grandma, seeing her grand kids who are not kids anymore messing around while still having a good bond just simply give her joy, Zach walks over to where she was standing to give her a quick hug, silently counting the seconds in his head, as much as he loves her, he really isn't a fan of hugs yet for his family he is forced to endure how he truly feels but that's a story for another day.
"Good morning grandma" Zach greets her formally after letting her go.
"Good morning Zach, the chef is already done making breakfast, come downstairs and ea-"
"That's where I'm going" Zach states making His grandma smack the back of his head because he had just cut her off that was rude and he knew it so he lets out a laugh while rubbing his head which didn't even hurt.
"What did I tell you about cutting people off?" she scolded
"I'm sorry grandma" Zach says with a soft smile.
"You are not missing breakfast again" she states sternly
"But I'm not hungry" he whines
"You have to eat something" she insists
"Ok How about we make a deal?, I promise that I will buy something from school today, you can call Sam to confirm later on during the day?" Zach bargains as he puts on his shoes, while his grandma lets out a sigh her grandson was just too stubborn...it's honestly how he has always been so she is not even surprised.
"Fine" she says making Zach smile in victory, he leans in and kisses her cheek affectionately, making her defenses weaken, especially when she was staring right at the reason her existence seems meaningful, at 70, her grandchildren give her the meaning that she has searching for all her life, a meaning that even her own son, their father couldn't fill up, no matter how many times he keeps on filling her account with money, to her it held no meaning, she can't even remember the last time he came to see her honestly...shaking herself out of that train of thought, she noticed that her grandson was staring at her worriedly, but she smiles at him in reply...as if to silently say that she was alright, sometimes he understood her even more than she did to her own self, how could she have been so lucky? To be blessed with him and his sister as her very own and only grandkids?.
"Do you need more money for lunch zee??" she asks her grandson who shakes his head in a no motion.
"No, I have more than enough from the money you gave me the other day but thank you though, byee " he says rushing past her, she could hear him saying a quick greeting to the house help before the sound of the door slamming shut was heard, his grandma just shakes her head and smiles as she makes her way down the hall way this time, knocking on the door a few doors away from Zach's.
"Yes, who is it?" The female questions inquisitively.
"It's me Camila, I believe that we need to talk" grandma says sternly and there was the sound of of the girl letting out a sigh before silence soon followed after that it, grandma was about to knock again that was when she heard it, the sound of footsteps, probably the sound of the girl making her way towards the door, but before the door opened in reality, the heavy sound of something or rather someone tumbling roughly onto the floor could be heard from outside the door, making grandma frown in worry, just when she was about to push the door open, the door swings open and there stood her oldest grand daughter, a proud jobless college graduate, with those her blue eyes that felt odd against her skin, a look that very was synonymous within the Perez family, that and her head full of loose curls, normally the family prided themselves and their beautiful curls but now looking at her grand daughter whose hair was looking like an abandoned birds nest, it makes her grandma worried rather than disappointed would feel.
"Are you okay, Milla?" She questioned worriedly and she watches on as her granddaughter almost immediately jack lanterns her face with a smile, once that was way too wide to be real in anyway.
"Yeah, yeah I'm great!, the female exclaims in an over enthusiastic tone but from the way her overly wide smile wobbled made her grandma think otherwise but before she could say anything Camilla interrupts her train of thoughts.
"How about breakfast grandma?"
"Mila, you need to talk about it, you know your happiness matters too" Her grandma says sternly making the girl glance around as if she was seeking for a route to escape with, to run away from whatever kind of therapy this was turning into.
"I'm really fine, ma, whatever you wanted to talk about, We can talk about that over breakfast!" Camila says enthusiastically while softly locking arms with her grandma, pulling her along, making her grandma let out a tired sigh, thinking to herself that she has almost had enough with this girls crazy antics, but yet regardless of it all, still grandma was more than willing to take more of her weird antics honestly, both hers and her brothers, because they're hers, hers to keep, hers to take care of and honestly she wouldn't even want to have it any other way than that, till death do them apart.
