Night had fallen over the city. Although the snow had stopped falling, the winds of the storm continued to blow furiously. The streets were desolate and covered with snow. A lone streetlamp flickers as the team stealthily moves through the city, navigating their way to the shipping docks, passing by buildings with shattered out windows that were sealed with wooden barricades. Victor keeps tabs on his immediate surroundings, noticing the many bullet holes that peppered the outside of each structure. He turned his gaze back ahead of him, watching as his team begun to turn down an alleyway. He quickened his pace to catch up with his team before turning the corner of the alley himself.
"How much further until the docks?" Volkov asks as Zeus walked ahead of him, holding a Mosin-Nagant rifle in his arms.
"Couple of more blocks." Zeus answered, keeping his gaze straight ahead.
"I really hope these Earth For All guys follow up with their side of the plan." Daniel says, observing around the dark alleyway, noticing the piles of trash that lined behind the buildings.
"They seemed like they weren't gonna bail on us." Aiyanna says, turning her gaze back behind her to see Victor catching up.
Suddenly, Zeus stops in his tracks, throwing up a fist. The team stops as well. Over the sound of the howling wind rushing through the city, the sound of engines roar from down the streets.
"Take cover." Zeus says, taking cover in the backdoor of a building of the alley. Zeus and Daniel hide in the shadows of the buildings as Victor takes cover behind a dumpster of the alley. He then feels the hand of Aiyanna on his shoulder as she took cover behind him, huddling close to him.
The sounds of engines drew closer, eventually overpowering the sound of the howling wind. Headlights illuminate the snow filled street as the vehicles approached. The team waited with bated breath, listening as the engines reverberate down the alleyway. Before long, a small convoy of black cargo trucks come into view as militia men rode in the beds of the truck, snow being kicked up from the asphalt as they cruised down the street. Victor peered from behind the dumpster, watching as the convoy made its way through the town. As he watched, his eyes widen as he sees a US ARMY cargo truck following behind the convoy, watching it disappear from sight.
After a minute, the sounds of the engines fade away and the team emerges from cover. Zeus stood at the edge of the alley, peeking out and observing across both ways of the street.
"All clear. Let's double time it." Zeus says, stepping back out onto the sidewalks of the streets, running down the streets with the team following suit.
After a while, the team reaches the outskirts of the shipping docks. After finding their way into a building that bordered the docks, they made their way to the roof and begun to survey the docks.
As the team crouched behind the half wall of the roofs border, Zeus observed with his binoculars, scanning around each warehouse of the dock.
"What do you see?" Volkov asks, observing with only his eyes.
"Nothing... seems quiet. Perhaps what we saw earlier was the most recent deployment of supplies." Zeus answers.
"So, what now?" Daniel asks, looking over to Zeus.
"We wait for the signal. Once the lights go out, we move in." Zeus answers, bringing his binoculars down from his eyes.
"If the power in town doesn't work, how can these docks have power?" Daniel asks, gazing back out to the docks.
"More than likely, they have their own power generators." Volkov answers.
Victor let out a soft sigh through his face covering, silently observing the scene before him. He then felt a hand on his shoulder. He turns to meet the gaze of Aiyanna.
