Ch 86

What to do, what to do. This is not an ideal situation. In darkness and surrounded by the unknown. 

Unarmed and vulnerable. 

Alone but not. 

I rolled my eyes at my thoughts. I've become a poet. 

But seriously, I need to come up with a plan. I need to think of something before someone or something else does before me. I could do a fireball jutsu, one that doesn't take too much chakra or area. 

It would light up the area and if there is someone here, it wouldn't be anything that they would note. It isn't hard or powerful. I need these guys to think I'm smart but weak. 

But again, if this area is enclosed, I could take out my oxygen. I don't hear any air coming through. 

Maybe I could use a small one, I hold up a finger and make a small fire on it. But there's no fire. That's weird, why isn't it working? 

I feel my chakra being used but I don't see the fruits of my labour. I put my hand over my finger where the the fire is supposed to be, but to my surprise, I burn myself. 

I frown as I shake my hand slightly from the pain. 

What the- 

 But then another idea came through. And if I'm right, I'm going to kill him. I raise my hands into a seal, "release." 

I felt the chakra all over my body as I closed my eyes, and when I opened them, there's light. 

As I thought, I was under genjutsu. And a powerful one. 

...Itachi.

It took a second for my eyes to adjust but when they did, I froze. There were people atop these big rocks. I was actually in a cave but the opening I could see. But these people were ones I recognized. 

I was surrounded by the Akatsuki. 

...What the hell? 

"Hitori." I felt myself jump as I heard the eerily dark voice. The fake leader was behind me. I turned around and faced him, looking up calmly. I didn't speak, I had no questions or comments. 

"Do you know why you're here?" Pain's presence was definitely commanding. I could see why he tricked so many into thinking he was the real leader. Especially those Rinnegan eyes, I could feel the power and authority from here. 

"I can only guess," I finally answered. There's no way I'm going to answer that with confidence. If Itachi put me through this, then how should I trust his words? 

Pain didn't react to my calm answer, just continuous staring. Maybe he's trying to intimidate me, he doesn't need to try. I do not want to go against him. Or anyone here, at least not at the moment. 

Finally, there was some movement, it was Konan. She walked up from behind him and whispered in his ear. What is she saying? She's covering her mouth so I cannot see. 

Pain kept his eyes on me as he listened. Unblinking purple Rinnegan eyes are terrifying. But I welcome the challenge, I stare back. 

He again, didn't react. 

I keep it up for another few seconds before I look away, I don't need to show how ballsy I am right now. Best not get on their bad side. 

I glance to my left, where Itachi is. I narrow my eyes in a glare, but there is no bite to it. I'm just annoyed and tired. And that genjutsu didn't help. 

It was completely disorienting and I swear if I didn't have common sense, I would be stuck. Itachi also didn't react to my glare, but didn't look away either. 

What is up with these people? 

Too emotionless for me. 

But honestly this is good, that means I don't have to deal with them. I refused to look at the others as that would be a whole new problem to deal with, and I'm good. 

"Hitori." I snap my head back in Pain's direction as he says my name. 

"Follow me. The rest of you, continue with your mission." It was blunt, with no room for argument anywhere. 

Just great, did I really piss him off? Who would've thought. 

He started to walk off behind where he stood. There was an opening behind him that led to another room. Or place, this is a cave after all. 

I quickly jumped up on his rock, right beside Konan. I glance in her direction where I catch her gaze. She's really pretty up close. 

I walk through the entrance or opening of where the rocks part, following Pain. Konan right behind me. Through there, there was a little room of sorts. 

But what surprised me the most was the guy leaning against the wall with Pain. 

"We meet again, Ishi Uchiha."
