"I'm something!" Lydia cried out at we looked at the empty classroom where lyida said a teachers been taken . " So they took a teacher? A deputy and a teacher what's the pattern ?" Ethan asked beside me . A deputy and a teacher ? . "Philosophers ..it's philosophers " i whispered to him . "I guess that means I'm going to call my dad," I informed Scott who was also beside me . Scott nodded in acknowledgment and I walked away from the scene pulling my phone out.

"Dad? Yeah, I need your help, and I gonna need it now please ."

"Are you sure this is the place?" I asked, looking around the dimly lit warehouse . My dad nodded confidently. "I've been tracking it, or well, trying to. I've calculated the next stop based on where the Darach is sacrificing people," he informed me. "How did you do this again?" I asked, curiosity piqued. "Not staying out of it," he replied with a soft chuckle. We turned the corner, anticipation warehouse in the air.

"Wait!" My dad suddenly pulled me back, his instincts kicking in. "The Darach isn't going to let you get close," he warned. I reached behind my back and pulled out a gun. "I came prepared," I said, a determined glint in my eyes. My dad smiled proudly in response.

Suddenly, a noise echoed behind us, and I swiftly pulled my dad behind some pillars with me . "Shhh," I whispered, hearing the faint sound of footsteps and the light taps of water hitting the ground. "Someone's coming," I warned him.

"You know if your dad tries to kill me, I'm going to protect myself," Isaac's voice rang out from the distance. "If my dad tries to kill you, you'll be dead," Allison responded with a hint of amusement. Jj chimed in, "Yeah, she's right."he told Isaac .

I narrowed my eyes at my dad, seeking an explanation. He shrugged slightly, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. "I smell blood," issac suddenly said, his voice filled with uncertainty. "Where?" Allison asked. "I don't know. I'm not good at this yet, but I think it's coming from..." Isaac trailed off.

Suddenly, Allison gasped, and I couldn't help but peek from my hiding place. The Darach stood behind a chained fence, its malevolent gaze fixed on our group.

Without hesitation, I flung my knife towards the Darach, hitting its shoulder and causing it to screech in pain. I leaped forward, clearing the fence, and tackled the Darach to the ground. But as it let out another screech, I felt an excruciating pain in my head, and an invisible force pushed me back, slamming me against the wall.

"Fuck me," I muttered, shaking off the disorientation as Allison and my dad rushed over, followed by Isaac and Jj . "Are you okay?" Allison asked, concern etched on her face. "Yeah, I'm good," I responded, trying to brush off the impact.

"You've been tracking the killer on your own this whole time?" Allison's voice held a mix of shock and frustration. My dad started to explain, looking towards Allison, Isaac, and Jj, but I noticed the anger brewing in Allison's eyes. Uh-oh, he's in trouble now.

"So it's my fault? That you've been lying to me for the past two months?" Allison confronted my dad. I decided to stay out of this argument, knowing it was best not to get involved. It was between them two because I'd be the one that lost it .

"You want to tally up the lies, Allison? I don't think you're going to come out ahead on that one," my dad retorted, his voice laced with defensiveness. "Hey, just a thought, maybe right now isn't the best time for a little family meeting?"Isaac spoke up, trying to diffuse the tension.

"So I guess 'Guardians' is off the table, unless your history teacher is Batman." Jj chimed in with a touch of humour. I couldn't help but crack a smile at his remark. "It's philosophers. The officer we found used to be a teacher. She used to teach middle school. There's going to be one more teacher," I explained to them, hoping to steer the conversation back to the task at hand.
