The whole idea of finding out you're a kickass supernatural being was getting back to the basics: It's pure horror movie.

"Your mom kept weapons from the storage room, you have to use it." Not long, Ash and I came back with swords, twin pistols, garlic, holy water, crosses, and some stuff that my brain couldn't comprehend.

I took the twin pistols. "I don't know how to fire these but I have a feeling I can."

"No. It's not for your age, Zade. You're too young to use that." Ash scowled.

"Heh, he can." Jasper scoffed. "He used to play with a toy gun before."

"That was ages ago, you idiot."

"What did you just say?" I walked right up to him.

"Enough, both of you!" Ash said. "We're going to get killed and you guys will make it about your problems?"

The window to the living room burst open, crystals shattered before our very eyes. With no other choice, I took the pistols and fired one bullet. It hit outside. For a moment I thought I had killed it like I killed the Wakwak earlier. Dwight, however, shoved the orb towards where the Aswang was trying to claw his way into the house. The creature shrieked in pain and stepped back.

Then silence. My chest tightened, stifling under the failure of getting killed. Life was not worth living if I wouldn't live for mom. The four of us looked around the house, preparing for the inevitable. Because they might pop in at any moment. A loud scratch rang on the outside. Since it was our ancestral house. Some parts of it were still made of hard wood.

I looked underneath the door. Shadows behind it, followed by a slithering noise. This was terrible. I didn't know danger until I was in front of it. The door burst open; revealing four men. They were wearing ragged clothes.

The Aswangs stood hunched, its limbs grotesquely elongated, fingers tipped with razor-sharp claws that gleamed in the dim light. Its skin was pale and slick, as if something twisted and inhuman slithered beneath its surface. But it was the eyes that truly unnerved you — glowing, deep-set orbs burning with hunger and malice. They locked onto you, narrowing with predatory intent.

I hardly believe that they were aswangs because their faces were as normal as any human. The tallest one had a scar slashed across his face. The other had a set of sharp teeth, smiling at us. And at their behind had his other hand cut off. It was probably from Dwight's magic.

One of their group, the one-eyed aswang was crouching on the floor, baring a set of sharp teeth. He moved dog-like with her four limbs. He stood up on his feet as it readied himself to spring.

"The Vasquez spawns." His words dripped with dark amusement. "Never thought that you guys could check on us here."

If the aswangs would kill us. No. I must not let my own fear spiral out of control. So, I gave a small laugh. "Gee, they should've cleaned themselves before showing up."

Dwight glared at me. Ash and Jasper rolled their eyes. The aswangs shot me an irksome look.

"This is a witcher?" Scared face with a dumbfounded expression. He asked one-eyed.

"Our intel says they are, but it doesn't matter. Witchers are gone from Nueva Bonifacio for over three months now." The one-eyed aswang said.

"It's surprising to see a live ones here." the other one said. He had much rough voice.

"What do you want from us?" Ash stepped in front of us. Despite his hand was trembling around the hilt of the sword, he displayed some protective older sibling instinct. He glowered viciously at the aswangs.

"I want you all." the man with a scar across his face said. "We want you. Aswangs want human meat but witcher meat is even delicious."

"Isn't that a little disgusting?" I asked. "Hello, it's 2022. That cannibalism shit was so outdated."
