"This world has been older than any of us have known." Dylan halted in front of the dinning table, looking sternly at us.
"Yeah we know, it all began with Adam and Eve." Zade said.
I could see Dylan was resisting every urge to strangle my brother. It was kind of hard to take Dylan seriously because he looked around Zade's age. And it was hard to take him seriously while he spread a cheese over the bread. "It was a paradise. Not until the fall of man. The demons walked the earth. Hides among the humans, deceiving them, teaching them all the sins. They made our home their home. But when the Witchers were made, they went back to hell. All that remains were their magic, their artifacts and other evil creatures.""And Aswangs." I added. Jasper took a seat across from me.
"Aswangs exist long before the Spaniards colonized our country. They are creatures of the night. They originated from the Old Ones." Dylan said. "You guys are a Mandirigma, and you are destined to fight these monsters"
"You do love to do this part, don't you?" Jasper snickered while he was munching over a biscuit.
"Do not be fooled, Jasper. Aswangs have other variations that you don't want to mess with. They are immortals that have been here longer than we've ever thought. They are alive and can only be killed by deca—"
"Come on, dude." Zade argued. "You're kidding, right?"
"Dude, I know you're mind-blowing stupid but you're not stupid enough not to believe what you saw." Dylan said.
"So Aswangs came from demons?" I asked.
"The last remaining upper-level demon, Armos—sired a Filipino, becoming the Ancient Cursed and first Aswang. He then, sired others in his village in Visayas." Dylan said. " Aswangs have a demonic virus in their saliva. Thus, if they want to make more of their kind, they will bite their target. They will convulsed and will have a near-death experience after being bitten and they will be re-birthed."
Zade glanced at me and twirled a finger on his temple.
"I'm not crazy, Zade." Dylan said.
"Right." Jasper said. "Let me be clear, so the usual belief of a black chick that can be passed from one aswang to a human is true?"
"Yes." Dylan answered.
"Well, that's enough information for today" Zade sighed, chugging up all the orange juice.
"And how do we know who's after us?" asked Jasper
"You mean how is it possible that they track us?" I said. "The real question is why?"

We never opened the library in our room, so Dylan and I checked it out. It was located under the storage room. The library had a long ceiling, much higher than the rest of the rooms in our house. Mom restricted us to go here when we were little. The walls were lined with books that were old enough. They were bound in leather or in velvet.
The floor was polished wood. The windows were shut off. I inhaled the mad smell of antiques. At the center of the room was a symbol that I couldn't decipher. It was carved in white chalk. There was a statue at the far corner of a man, raising an axe to chop off the aswang's head. It was like Archangel michael's statue. I thought.
"That's Frederic Juanico" said Dylan. "The legendary Witcher in 1860's. He fought two Ancient aswangs before he was captured by the Spaniards, falsely accused him that he murdered those townsfolk when it was actually the aswangs."
"Where are they now?"
"I don't know." Dylan shrugged. "No one apparently knows, but rumor has it their family was gone. Extinct."
