As the city lights began to shine and the night grew dazzling, the car stopped under the apartment building. Gu Jin pushed the door, intending to get out, but found it was locked.
"Mr. Mu," Gu Jin turned to the man next to her, who was focused on the road, and said, "I've arrived."
"Hmm." Mu Mingcheng kept his hands on the steering wheel, his gaze distant, as if he was deep in thought about something important.
"Your car door..." Gu Jin decided to be more explicit.
Mu Mingcheng finally turned his head and suddenly reached out, "Give me your phone."
"Huh?" Gu Jin was confused.
"Give me your phone," he urged.
Gu Jin tightened her grip on her small bag and looked at him warily. "Mr. Mu, even though we're currently in a relationship, we still need to have our privacy, right?"
If she couldn't even ensure this basic boundary, she would rather carry the psychological burden.
"You're overthinking it," Mu Mingcheng suddenly looked at her kindly. "Do you really think I need to check your phone to invade your privacy?"
Though his argument made sense, Gu Jin was still hesitant.
"I think," Mu Mingcheng said, tapping the steering wheel with one hand and resting the other on the back of her seat, his warm breath brushing against her face, "you wouldn't want me to take it out myself, would you?"
Gu Jin seriously doubted that someone with such a personality had ever been a top special forces soldier.
The world must be on medication.
She slowly took out her phone, which was a very girly pink color.
Mu Mingcheng took the phone, glanced at her with a mocking look, as if to say, 'You still use pink stuff?'
Gu Jin widened her eyes in frustration. Couldn't she be a little princess?
A buzzing sound filled the car, and Mu Mingcheng handed the phone back to her, lazily saying, "The number I just gave you is my number. Save it and remember to keep in touch."
Gu Jin responded absentmindedly with a nod.
However, Mu Mingcheng was not satisfied with her attitude and threatened, "Don't forget, if your performance in the next three months satisfies me, I'll return the bracelet after three months."
"Yes, yes, yes, don't worry." Gu Jin was tired of hearing about it, so she put on a flattering smile and said, "I'll definitely make sure you're satisfied."
"Oh?" Mu Mingcheng chuckled, taking her soft, fair hand and playfully examining it as if admiring a beautiful piece of art.
He smiled and brought her hand to his lips, looking at Gu Jin's face, and placed a delicate kiss on the back of her hand. "I'll be watching."
