Five days later, at Mu Mingcheng's strong insistence, the group embarked on their journey back home.

The business negotiations with Country Y had already been addressed by Mu Mingcheng, who had demonstrated his respect and seriousness. The remaining matters could be handled by his elite team.

As for his injuries, five days were enough for the wounds to scab over. As long as he was careful and didn't make any sudden movements, he could safely return home and continue his recovery.

Gu Jin had advised him to stay a few more days, but Mu Mingcheng was firm. He said that if they delayed their return, the clues might be erased, and he wouldn't want to be caught off guard.

Returning promptly would also stir up the people behind the scenes and force them to make a move.

With this reasoning, and Mu Mingcheng's insistence, Gu Jin consulted the doctor, who said that as long as he took extra care, flying wouldn't be an issue for now. Gu Jin felt relieved.

What truly put her at ease was that after Mu Mingcheng's parents learned about the assassination attempt on their son, they quickly sent a medical team from home.

Along with that came a private jet.

According to Assistant Fang, this private jet was specially arranged by Mu Mingcheng's parents. They feared that if the mastermind behind the attack hadn't succeeded in killing Mu Mingcheng and Gu Jin, they wouldn't give up easily.

To ensure their son's safety, Mu's father even used his overseas connections. Even the flight crew was thoroughly vetted.

In both her past and present lives, Gu Jin had only seen private jets on television.

Excited by the prospect of flying on a private jet, Gu Jin felt her legs go weak when she saw the aircraft up close.

On her previous flight to Country Y, Gu Jin was unaware that this body had a fear of heights, so she didn't feel scared.

But ever since she accidentally glanced out of the window mid-flight and realized the original owner had a fear of heights, she hadn't even boarded the plane yet, and her legs were already shaking.

Behind her stood several tall and burly bodyguards sent by the Mu family, waiting for her to board so they could follow.

Gritting her teeth, Gu Jin decided to go for it.

She mustered her courage and was about to step onto the ladder when a voice called out from the plane, "Old Liu, go help her."

At the entrance of the plane, Mu Mingcheng was seated in a wheelchair, with Old Liu pushing him from behind. His chest was wrapped in layers of thick bandages, and his oversized suit jacket was draped over his shoulders. Despite days of treatment, his face was still pale, giving him a fragile appearance.

"Yes." Old Liu let go of the wheelchair, got off the plane, and approached Gu Jin. "Miss Gu, excuse me."

Gu Jin looked up at the bright sun, which blurred the faces of those inside the plane. She squinted and whispered a "thank you" to Old Liu.

With someone supporting her, Gu Jin's trembling legs steadied somewhat.

In reality, Gu Jin wasn't afraid of flying. What frustrated her was the overwhelming instinctual fear of this body.

Pale-faced, Gu Jin finally made it to the plane's door when a strong hand reached out, gripping her arm exactly where Old Liu had touched earlier.

Mu Mingcheng held onto her hand, glanced at his bandaged chest, and said with a seemingly helpless tone, "Xiao Jin, could you take care of the wheelchair?"
