The Moore's car was following ours toward the Gala, I hadn't seen James yet, he said the outfit would be a surprise, so I agreed we ride in two different cars, but that meant I was stuck with my father as he told me how to act, and both my parents reminding of the etiquette I had to follow.
"Greet everyone we greet okay? Smile, make small talk but when the speech starts you don't talk, don't use your phone at the dinner table." They started saying "You are coming with James as your date so you stay next to him, you hold his arm the way your mother holds mine okay? Remember to be polite and gracious Celestia, no one likes to be around rude or loud people." My father said looking stern
"I'm never loud or rude Father, I've been to at least five Galas, I know the drill," I said nodding at him as we sat in the limousine.
"I'm just warning you, don't go and disappear somewhere with James, I know kids these days do stuff you shouldn't before marriage, I warned you, don't let him take advantage of you Celestia." My father said
"We know his parents, we talked about you two, no one is against your relationship darling, we are just warning you, for your good." My mother continued and I nodded smiling a bit, before dropping my expression completely.
Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at the place of the event, the driver opened our doors, and my father came out first, and gave his arm to my mother which she held as she got out, the driver helped me get up from my seat and we stood there, waiting for the Moores.
A few minutes later, I felt a hand on my waist, and when I turned around it was James, I quickly relaxed and smiled.
I glazed at his outfit, he was wearing a full black suit, the Blazer opened, and a black button-up, black pants, and black shoes. His hair was a beautiful mess. "I matched with you." He said and that made me smile, a genuine one, not a smile I was ready to shoot at people inside.
"You look handsome"
"Thank you butterfly."
"Celestia!" His parents exclaimed coming in for a hug not caring about the formalities.
"Hello, it's so nice to see both of you," I exclaimed smiling breaking the hug first, tidying my dress, and feeling my parents stare in the back of my head.
"Shall we go in?" My father said to everyone.
James pulled his arm forward, "Ready to pull the best act ever?" He said as I held his arm.
"Ready."
"Now as we go in, we're going to need to stop for some pictures, Pose for a minute, and leave." My father informed us as the guard walked us toward the entrance.
James and I went in first, holding each other, and smiling for the picture, close behind us my parents came in so did James's parents. We took a family picture, I stood sandwiched by my parents, smiling, acting like a perfect little family for the media.
When this was over, we walked inside.
The place was beautiful, decorated with white and Gold decorations, waiters serving Champagne and small portions of food.
Holding James, we greeted some people we knew from our parents and chatted a little bit, before directing ourselves toward our table.
We all were sitting right next to each other, enjoying as much as we could, sipping on champagne and eating fancy salads and soup.
James and I were talking when a hand came from behind me and held my shoulder.
"Long time no see Celestia." I heard a voice that gave me shivers down my spine.
