"I got you food!" James said entering my room which is a complete mess, dresses were laying on the bed, my hairdryer and curler were on the floor, lots of partition papers were placed on my desk, James took a look around before looking at me "Did a bomb explode in this room?" He asked placing the take away on the bed.
"I wish."
"Come eat" he said opening the bag and taking out two white plastic containers.
"I don't really feel like eating." I said dropping my mascara on the floor "Shit.", I picked it up but suddenly it was taken from my hand
"James I'll be late! I need to finish my make up, do my hair and double check my partitions before heading to the auditorium ." I explained digging into my make up bag again trying to find my lip gloss.
"You still have three hours left before your piano recital butterfly, the auditorium is fifteen minutes away, I bet you did not eat yet, you won't focus with an empty stomach." he said holding my face looking deep into my eyes.
"I drank coffee, and ate some yogurt and strawberry." I said but he just shook his head.
"I got your favorite, Italian Carbonara Pasta from this place you made me go to three times in the past month, the waiter even recognized me and when I stepped inside the restaurant he told me that the pasta will be done soon, so you are eating."
He kissed me and led me to the desk, his words made me smile, last month my parents were out of the country, again, so I spent most my time at James's, when I told him what my favorite restaurant was he took me there the second day, a week later I was craving pasta too so we drove together again, and last week we also drove there after I begged him to go because I wanted to try Lemon Pasta, but I ended up not really liking it.
"Eat Baby."
"I don't feel like eating." I admitted, "I'm more like going to vomit from stress any second now."
"Butterfly, you're going to rock this recital." He said hugging my sitting figure.
"Oh, I better not, It's half an hour of pure classical music." I smiled at my own joke and he laughed opening both our containers handing me a plastic fork, "Eat."
-
"You're up in five minutes Celestia." The theatre worker said while I stood there holding my partitions for dear life in my knee length black dress, my hair down breathing heavily.
"I'm okay, I'm gonna play well, I'm Good." I kept repeating those same words in my head until this same worker told me to go on stage.
Taking a deep breath, I started walking before standing in the middle of the stage, the only thing on it was the large black piano and its chair.
A round of applause started when all the lights turned off and the only form of light left was the projector on me.
I slowly analyzed the people sitting, around three hundred person were ready to watch me play for thirty long minutes but I searched for one specific person.
James was sitting next to my parents on the first line in the middle. Right behind them Sofia and her girlfriend, Alex, Jasmine and Christina were sitting looking at me smiling.
James gave me a thumbs up smiling widely.
I sat on the piano chair placing my partition book on the stand, getting ready to play.
-
"Girl YES!." I heard Sofia's voice in between the applause when I was finally done playing, people were standing up applauding, my friends were hyping me up, while my parents applauded with the rest.
James was not in his chair anymore, where did he go?
No one wants a boring girlfriend.
thirty minutes of piano?
BORING.
Getting backstage, he was waiting for me holding some purple and white flowers.
"Butterfly, you were amazing, I really loved it, I knew you were going to blow everyone's mind." He said handing the flowers.
"It's Lavender, they say it softens anxiety, I assumed you would feel anxious when you finish playing," he stopped for a second "I wonder if I can plant you lavenders in our future garden that the knots in your chest unravel and never tighten again."
Hearing his words melted my heart, "Thank you." I said Kissing him deeply
"I love you."
"I love you too"
Someone coughed from next to us which made us stop kissing, it was my parents.
James looked at me frightened, but my mother laughed a little, it was the first time they walk in on us kissing.
"Thank you for stopping eating my only daughter's face." My father spoke which made my mother laugh.
"You did a great job up there sweetie, me and your father are very proud of you." My mother said hugging me.
"We are Celestia, you were incredible." My father spoke which made me smile.
phew
"Thank you mom, thank you father." I said hugging them.
"Here is my bestie! It's my bestie everyone." Sofia yelled in the backstage of the theater.
"Our bestie", Jasmine corrected and all three hugged me.
"You were incredible on stage girly." Christina exclaimed while we were all hugging each other.
"I can't believe Jasmie is hugging me from her own will and without me threatening her." I said laughing.
When we broke the Hug, Alex came forward handing me a piece of canvas, "I drew this for you." When I looked at it, I realized that it was a painting of me and James laying on the beach facing the water at night, only our shadows could be seen but you know its us, the painting was dull but colored butterflies were circling us which gave the paintings all the right emotions.
"Thank you Alex." I spoke hugging him tightly.
-
"Let's go Celebrate yeah?" I heard one of the girl say, I looked at my parents but they told me to go, so I rushed outside holding James's hand and got into his car.
