The weekend had been a whirlwind for everyone, and as Monday morning rolled around, the Kojae Media team was back to the grind. Jungkook pulled his car into the parking lot, still processing everything that had happened with Y/N and her crush on Taehyung. But as he was about to park, something else caught his attention.

As an Uber pulled away, Jungkook noticed Asher and Brynn standing together by the curb. At first, it seemed innocent enough—just coworkers arriving at the same time. But then, Jungkook's eyes widened as Brynn reached out and took Asher's hand. He watched in disbelief as Asher leaned down to adjust the collar of Brynn's coat, causing her to smile warmly. She mouthed a soft "thank you" before pulling Asher down closer to her face.

"What the hell..." Jungkook muttered under his breath as he watched them kiss. This wasn't just a friendly peck on the cheek; Brynn and Asher were locked in a deep, intimate kiss, completely oblivious to their surroundings.

Jungkook stayed in his car, unmoving, his mind racing. Since when were Asher and Brynn seeing each other? He hadn't noticed anything between them before. He remembered how persistent Brynn had been with him, even after he started dating Emery. She had always seemed so intent on chasing after him, and part of him had secretly enjoyed the attention. Now, it all made sense—Brynn had backed off because she had found someone else.

A flicker of irritation crept into Jungkook's chest. He didn't want Brynn back, but the idea that she had moved on so easily—especially with someone like Asher—bothered him more than he expected.

Asher and Brynn finally pulled apart, laughing softly before heading toward the building, hand in hand. Jungkook leaned back in his seat, shaking his head as he processed the scene.

"Guess I wasn't that important after all," he muttered with a wry smile, though the irritation still lingered.

When Jungkook finally made his way into the office, the usual morning buzz was in full swing. Y/N was at her desk, typing away, while Taehyung leaned casually against her cubicle, chatting animatedly with her. Jimin was nowhere to be seen, likely still brooding over the weekend's events.

Asher and Brynn walked in together, and Jungkook watched them with narrowed eyes as they separated—Brynn heading toward the marketing department and Asher toward the design team. Both of them looked unbothered, as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.

"Morning, Jungkook!" Taehyung greeted him with his usual bright smile, but Jungkook barely acknowledged it, still lost in his thoughts.

"Hey," Jungkook mumbled, his mind replaying the scene in the parking lot.

Y/N looked up, sensing something was off. "You okay, Kook? You look like you've seen a ghost."

Jungkook shook his head, forcing a smile. "Nah, just didn't get much sleep last night."

"Everything cool with Emery?" Taehyung asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.

"Yeah, we're good," Jungkook replied quickly, not wanting to delve into his own feelings. He glanced over at Asher again, who was now deep in conversation with one of the new hires. Jungkook's jaw tightened involuntarily.

Y/N noticed his line of sight and raised an eyebrow. "What's up with you and Asher?"

"Nothing," Jungkook replied curtly, but Y/N wasn't convinced. She exchanged a look with Taehyung, who shrugged.

"Well, if you say so," Y/N said, turning back to her work. But Jungkook could feel her eyes on him, as if she was trying to figure out what was really going on.

As the day wore on, Jungkook found it harder to concentrate. The image of Asher and Brynn kissing replayed in his mind, making him feel more unsettled than he cared to admit. It wasn't about wanting Brynn back—he was happy with Emery. But something about the way Brynn had moved on so easily gnawed at him.
