On the cool morning of December 27th Y/N sat on the porch, her arms crossed against the chilly air, staring into the distance. The sky was overcast, matching her mood. Chris, her younger brother, walked out, sensing the tension that had been hanging over her for days. He took a seat beside her, not saying anything at first, just watching her.

"You haven't looked happy in days," Chris finally spoke, breaking the silence. "Back at Christmas, I saw you—you weren't yourself. And then, there's Savannah... announcing Jimin as her boyfriend like it was some big victory."

Y/N tensed but kept her eyes on the horizon. "Chris, that's over. I didn't date Jimin, not like that."

Chris frowned, clearly unconvinced. "Nah, I could've sworn you and him had something going on. I'm not stupid, Y/N. Why're you lying?"

Y/N turned to him, her face hard, trying to shrug it off. "It wasn't serious. It was... nothing. Just a thing. Ask Savannah, if you care so much."

Chris raised an eyebrow, seeing through her front. "A thing? It's weird, though. If you two were in some 'situation,' why's Savannah dating him now? And acting like she's got the upper hand?"

Y/N's face darkened. "I don't know, Chris. Ask Savannah. That b**** doesn't care about loyalty. Even after I beat her head in, she's walking around like she's some queen because our aunts fawn over her like she's the golden child. Me and her work in the same place, but somehow, she's always the one getting praised. It's all some bullsh**."

Chris blinked in surprise, his eyes widening. "Wait—wait, hold up. You beat Savannah's ass?"

Y/N smirked, her eyes flashing with satisfaction. "It wasn't even a fight, Chris. I dragged her. Pounded her head in until she couldn't even stand straight. And you know what? She deserved every second of it."

Chris shook his head, both impressed and shocked. "Damn, Y/N. See, that's why me and Marcus were telling you to come box with us back in the day. I knew you had it in you."
Y/N chuckled darkly. "I didn't need boxing to handle her. Savannah deserved every punch. She always acts so high and mighty, like she's better than everyone. And don't think I didn't notice how she's always looking down on me, even back in the day."

Chris nodded, clearly remembering. "Yeah, I noticed that too. She was always clingy with you but had this weird energy like she was jealous or something."

Y/N glanced at her brother, grateful that he understood. "Exactly. She's jealous. And now, with Jimin, it's like she's finally got one over on me. But I don't care anymore. Let her have him. They deserve each other."

Chris leaned in closer, his tone more serious. "You sure you're really done, though? 'Cause from what I'm seeing, this whole thing with Jimin is still messing with your head."

Y/N looked away, her jaw tight. "I'm done, Chris. I have to be."

Chris studied her for a moment, then changed the subject slightly. "And Taehyung? What's going on with him? That dude normally blows up your phone 24/7, but I haven't seen his name pop up once lately. Y'all good?"

Y/N's face softened a little, but the tension was still there. "We're... taking space. He said he needed time to figure some things out."

Chris frowned. "Space? That don't sound like Tae. He's always on you, checking in, making sure you're good. What happened?"

Y/N hesitated, staring out at the street again, her thoughts racing. "It's complicated, Chris. I hurt him, and I don't know if he's gonna come back this time."

Chris nodded slowly, piecing things together. "Well, whatever it is, you know Tae. He's not gonna leave you hanging. But if he's asking for space, maybe it's something bigger than you think."
