Simon's POV

——Time Skip To November 7th——

"Mom, Danny's birthday is tomorrow and I have zero clue what to get him" I tell my mom while sitting on her bed next to her. Danny's in the shower right now so it's perfect time to talk to her. We are staying up till twelve so we can all say happy birthday to him.

"I have a crazy idea" Mom says. I look towards her. I swear if she says birthday sex.

"Why don't we get plane tickets to Orlando and tickets for Universal Studios? It's a big gift but I've got the money, and think about it. Danny's birthday card along with being told about his grades. He's always kept A's. Might as well keep the promise they made him" Mom says. My face says it all. Complete shock. That is the best gift ever.

"I can buy the plane tickets" I say. Mom smiles.

"I've got it all, just say it's from both of us. I'll get them now. Keep Danny distracted" Mom says while pulling her laptop from her nightstand into her lap. I nod and hug her.

"Thank you mom" I say. She hugs me back.

"He deserves this. Plus, family vacation is what we need" Mom says. I pull away from the hug and smile.

"So we tell him at Midnight?" I ask. Mom smiles.

"Yep. Did the shower just turn off?" Mom asks. I listen for a second and realize the sound of running water is gone.

"Shit" I say and get up quickly.

"Booking the tickets now" my mom whisper yells so that I can hear.

"Thank you" I whisper yell back and book it into my room.

——Time Skip To 11:58——

"It's almost time" Mom says while we sit around the kitchen table.

"I can't believe you were born at exactly 12:00" I say. Danny smiles.

"Yeah heh" he says. I can tell he's not looking forward to 12:00. That would be four years since his parents died.

"You're gonna be twenty in one minute" Mom says. I see her pull her laptop up on the table. Probably to show the reservations. I smile.

"Don't remind me" Danny says laughing. I laugh and hold his hand. We watch the time on my phone.

12:00

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY" Mom and I yell, but borderline scream. Danny starts laughing. I get up and instantly give him a kiss. It's just a small one since mom is here.

"Alright Dansters, we got you a gift" Mom says. That's a nickname my mom's been using on Danny lately. He doesn't complain since it's kinda catchy.

"You guys didn't have to" Danny starts.

"Shut up, yes we did" Mom says. Danny looks down laughing a little.

"Alright so how have your grades been" Mom asks him. Danny looks up.

"I keep all A's. I have it on my phone if you wanna see... why?" Danny asks, skeptical. Mom smiles.

"I believe you, don't worry. I know today's gonna be tough for you" Mom says. Danny looks down at his lap and starts picking at his nails.

"Just a little. You guys make it better though" Danny says, and looks up with a small smile.

"I can never replace your parents... But I can make sure that what they told you back then still happens" Mom says, smiling. Danny tilts his head in confusion.

"What do you mean?" Danny asks. Mom looks down at her laptop and then slides it over to Danny, turning it around. Danny's face is confused at first... until he sees the reservations for Universal.
