It was the the exam before the last.
Exams huh...She had forgotten that they were going on.
She was standing again, in the usual place.
Suzaku asked about her friends.
She said she didn't have friends. Or rather everyone was her friend. She was like a local cat everyone adored and no one cared about.Suzaku agreed, saying he was like that and didn't like it. He said he also went through rebellious phases like Ana.
He said he decided on a personality , a fabricated one. That he used for his classmates.
Ana asked who that was.
He said Kazehaya. From "kimi ni todoke"
She wondered a bit. Saying she saw kimi ni todoke quite long ago and didn't remember how Kazehaya behaved.
She said she never tried any character . None fit her. Sure she spent a long time trying to be like Makima but that didn't work.
They laughed for a while.
But soon realising that they were again at the loss of subject, Ana nervously said,
"the lack of subject..."
She decided to play fairy.
"I don't know why but...I feel like I'm gonna lose you" She sadly smiled.
Suzaku stared back.
"Can you read minds?" She giggled a little.
In his quiet voice. Ana liked it. She liked his voice. How it was barely audible. How she had to pull him so close to hear it. How his voice was so soft.
She said she couldn't read minds and asked him to be assured.
She hesitated a little. The words she formed might not need to be expressed. But she wanted to express it.
"You know, you're the only person who talked to me by yourself and kept approaching me...so you are... important to me?"
He said that he was at loss of words and asked if she could read minds again.
She knew. She knew that he was pretending. To be nice. But really...no one has even bothered to do that either.
................
The last exam. Ana never wanted an exam to be eternal before.
She had feelings she hadn't known. Talked longer than she knew she could. Dared to do things she didn't know she could.
And now all was gonna end.
Suzaku, the catalyst will be gone. She thought. She liked him. She might even love him.
Love...her only thought was that anything can be love. Any sweet or bitter feelings. If one believed their feelings to be love it'll be love.
To Ana, the catalyst that finally made her want to lose weight and actually succeed was the person she loved.
To Sara, it was the person, the friend that was always there for her, and the friend who was unlike any other friend.
To Rachel it will be someone who finally managed to provide her the love she required.
She remembers in Nana, Hachi told that to Shin once. When Shin said he didn't know if he loved Reira. Because if he grows up , he didn't know if he'll go back to her.
She told him that he should not think love to be perfect. Because if he did, he'll grow up to be a sad adult, who'll never experience love despite being surrounded by it.
