18. I saved him. At least him

We got out of the pool.

"You four! Freeze!" Some fucking guards. Great.
Minho placed himself in front of me.

Then one of the guards shot the others. Gally. Oh thank God. "You guys are nuts."

"Tell me something I don't know." I smirked

"Gally...?" Minho's brain was dead now I think.

"Hey Minho." He nod "Glad you're back."

"Um... what the hell!?" He looked at me.

"He's very much alive as you can see. I'll explain later". I patted his chest.

"You better do."

Newt was already weak and we all took the uniforms off.

Minho's Pov

"How are you feeling?" I asked him. Leah was with Thomas and Gally a bit far from we.

"Eh..terrible. But we found you and finally you got Leah back, so it's okay. Man she missed you so much. She... almost relapsed."

"What!?"

"Shh, not so loud. In the 3rd month we failed another mission and she lost it. Took a knife and locked herself in the bathroom. But she stopped herself in time. Thomas found her and stayed with her all night. She said she stopped because you would't want that for her. She still has that bracelet you gave her." Newt said quietly

I was so sad. I looked at her and saw the bracelet on her wrist. "She didn't do it for me?"

"Of course man. She love you. Just please don't tell her this... She already felt bad about that." Newt said. I nod.
Thank you Leah. I wish I was there with you...

"Thomas we're going to get you! Just look near the tunnels!" Brenda told him through the walkie talkie. She was with Fry, Jorge and Vince in a berg. She has the bliss for Newt. We have to hurry.

Minho and Thomas took Newt because he couldn't stand so good anymore. I was in front of them with Gally, he knows the way there.

"Come on Newt just a little more." I turned to him with tears in my eyes. Minho looked at me sad.

The whole city was burning. Laurence's friends started a rebellion. Everywhere were his people and WCKD guards shooting at each other. It was pure chaos.

"You have to leave me here you won't make it." Newt said weakly.

"Fuck no! We won't." I told him

The boys put him down. I went to him and cupped his face. "I know it's hard but we will save you okay? I promised."

"Minho, we will run to Brenda to take the bliss. Gally will cover for us. Thomas stay with him and try to keep him sane." I looked determined to the guys.

"Alright let's go." Gally said and the rest nodded.

"Hang on just a bit more okay? Thomas will take care of you." Minho said to him.

"Thank you mate. Thank you Leah. Go now."

"Be careful guys." Thomas said

And we ran. Hang on Newt, I will save you. I have to.

"BRENDA! the serum!" We reached them.

Brenda started to run fast. I was after her leaving the rest behind.

"How is he!?" she screamed trying to cover the noises.

"Not good at all. We don't have much time!"

We run and run, avoiding the bullets that flew past us. That until one of them hit me in my arm. I screamed and I almost fell but didn't. I have to keep going. Brenda was worried but I told her I'm fine.

On the way to them I heard Theresa's voice. She did it. I was right, Thomas's blood mixed with bliss was the fucking cure. She told Thomas to come back to her to get it. We saw them but something was wrong.

Thomas was in front of us, Newt just collapsed. I froze. Brenda froze.

Minho Fry and Gally were here to. They also froze. It was a knife under Newt's heart and he wasn't moving.

I wasn't thinking, I took the bliss from Brenda and went to Newt. The others followed. I approached him. He wasn't dead. He can't be. Not now, not ever.

I took the knife out. "Leah...stop.. he's dead-"

"NO! he's not he-he can't be I won't let that. I have to save him. At least him." I started to cry. All of them looked at me hopeless.

"Leah... you were shot!" Minho screamed. All of them looked at my arm shocked.

"I know but not now Minho."

I injected the bliss right into his heart. The serum went in. I waited.

And waited

And waited

"No...no" "Please Newt please. You're to strong for this c'mon." I tried. I was ready to gave up.

I took his hand. I felt it, loud and clear.

His heartbeat. He's alive.

"He's alive!" I screamed and the rest froze.

"What? H-How-"

On cue, Newt gasped and we all yelped.

"Oh God" I started sobbing like a child. I did it. I saved him. All of them looked at me in awe.

"You saved him Leah." Fry said still shocked. I got up and Thomas attacked me into a hug.

"Thank you. Thank you so much I-"

"Hey it's okay Thomas. Go and take the cure for him. Kill Janson and Ava for us." I told him.

He left and I turned to the rest. Fry and Gally took Newt. All the adrenaline was gone and I got dizzy. "Leah?"

Before I hit the floor Minho caught me. I was bleeding bad from my wound.

"Hey don't close your eyes." Minho told me "Stay awake please, Leah."

He carried me back to the berg with the others behind us. Jorge and Vince saw us.

"Woah is she okay?" Vince took me from Minho.

"She got shot on her way to Newt. She saved him. He'll live." Brenda said.

"Good job hermana." Jorge smiled at me. I smiled back.

"Minho..." I saw him next to me while Vince worked on my arm.

"Hey I'm here. You're okay now." He held my face. Then I passed out.

Thomas please be okay in there.
