The next day me and Aris were at our table.
Last night Aris showed the tall boy named Thomas where they take the bodies. Aris didn't told him that we already have the card for the room. I took it from a guard when he wasn't looking.
Today finally Thomas mase his way to our table and sat next to me in front of Aris.
"Hey guys." he said meeting our eyes. "I'm Thomas, maze A."
"Leah, this is Aris as you already knew, maze B." i said softly.
"Nice to meet you, Leah." he smiled politely.
"So you are the guy that luckily know something is off about this place."
"Yeah, something's not right. Aris showed me last night in the vents where they take the kids Janson calls. The boys want to meet you also, can they come here?" he asked
"Bring them here." Aris said
He waved at the group and they made their way here, said hi and we made the introductions.
"Hi, I'm Leah this is Aris." "Hey."
"Hey, I'm Frypan, this is Winston, Minho and Newt."
I froze.
I stared at Newt for so long that he finally asked me why.
"I'm sorry for starring, and I don't know how to say this but Newt, you have a sister.... Her name is-"
"Sonya." he said shocked. All of us froze at the news. "I remember her. Oh my God do you know her!?" he took my hand and squeezed.
"Yes, she's our friend, from the maze. She and Harriet another girl dissapeared one night here. We don't know where they are but I'm sure she is alive." i told him.
"Oh.." "Yeah i'm-i'm sorry."
"It's ok love, we will find them." Love. Yep definitely british like Sonya. She calls me that too.
"You're from maze B right?" Minho finally said something instead of staring at me, but not in a creepy way.
"Yes, we called it the Forest."
"Glade." interesting name. Then we all said our stories about the mazes we are from.
We had medics, they had medjacks
We had constructers they builders
We mappers they runners
we cooks they also had cooks and so on. Weird names they got. Oh well, boys...
"What were your jobs?" Aris asked curiously.
"Newt was second in comand and a gardener, Winston a slicer, Minho a runner, Fry a cook and I became also a runner." Thomas said "How about you?"
"I was a medic, Aris became a gardener.... Sonya was our second in comand just like Newt and Harriet our leader." I said.
"Medic huh?" Minho asked, his attention was fully on me.
"Yeah, surprised Spiky?" i said in an amused tone
"I..uh.. not really" he stuttered
"Why is that?"
"You look like a medic that's all." Very smart Minho, very smart. I laughed at that and he smiled back. The others were looking at us with a look I couldn't figure it out. Whatever.
"So this place isn't save?" Winston asked.
Aris and Thomas looked at me. I took a breath and I told them the big news.
"It's still WCKD. We never escaped them."
"WHAT!?" they almost shout. Except Thomas who already knew from Aris.
"Look, I know you don't believe me or Aris, you just met us-"
"This can't be right." Newt said annoyed. "You're lying!"
"I know you all taught that we are safe here, but we are not. C'mon guys open you're eyes. They know exactly what shoe size we are or the clothes that fit us perfectly, the kids that were taken to the 'save place' are fucking dead. They took their blood to be tested for the cure." I said annoyed.
"You don't know that-" Newt tried
"For fuck sakes I saw them!" I nearly screamed punching the table. They all flinched. Newt froze.
"What..?"
"Me and Aris have the card for that room. All the kids are there. They are dead and their blood is taken from them. Rachel and Jane, the other two that escaped with me Aris Sonya and Harriet were taken the first week.... They were there Newt. Dead."
"Jane was fucking 14 years old... and now she's dead..." I sniffed and Aris took my hand.
All the boys looked at me with a sad look. They knew I wasn't lying.
"This shit place is still WCKD, guys. And we have to escape as soon as possible. You don't have to trust me or Aris... you have to trust Thomas." I told them. They all looked at him and he nod.
"I trust you." Minho was the first to speak. I looked at him slightly shocked. "Why?"
"I see the look in you're eyes. You tell the truth." he said simply. I nod and smiled a bit.
"Sorry about earlier, Leah. I just wanted to believe that this place is safe." Newt said to me guilty.
"It's ok Newt. I believed that too first." i smiled
"Okay so what's the plan?" Fry asked.
"We will escape tonight. Aris and Leah will come get us in the vents and we will find Theresa then-"
"Who?" I interupted.
"Theresa is our only girl that came into the Glade. They keep testing her for I don't know what. In the med wing." Thomas said.
"I know where that is." Aris said "We will get her too."
From the corner of my eye I saw Janson looked at us with.. hate to say at least. And I knew.
"Janson knows." The boys froze.
"He knows we figured it out". Well shit.
