Darrian was in catering a week later. Max came up to her.
"Hi Darrian." He said. "How are you?"
"Good."
"Wanna go for a drink tonight?
"Sure."
"How's Kaylie?"
"She's doing good." "Wanna see a picture?"
"Yes." She showed him her screensaver. It was a picture of her and Kaylie. "Aw, she's beautiful." "She looks just like you."
"I gotta go."
"Wanna meet me in the hotel parking lot?"
"Yeah."
After the show Max drove them to a bar. They were playing pool.
"Damn, you won again." Max said.
"Yeah, I'm a pool shark." "That's how I paid my way through wrestling school."
"You're kidding."
"Nope."
"Want another drink?"
"Yeah."
A few hours later Max was walking Darrian back to her room.
"Being a teen mom really hard, but despite the hardships and my problems with Greg, I would never take it back." "Kaylie is my life."
"I can already tell you're a great mom." They stopped in front of her door.
"I know I hurt you back then Max." "I'm sorry."
"Why did you break up with me?"
"The things you used to talk about us doing together scared me." "I wasn't ready yet, so I broke up with you."
"Can I have a hug?" They hugged.
"I had fun tonight."
"Me too."
"Goodnight."
"Goodnight." She went inside. Max walked down the hall smiling.
Flashback
It was the Fourth of July. Darrian had just watched the fireworks. She was getting ready to walk home. She heard a car beep at her. She looked over. It was Max. She went over to the drivers side window.
"Hi." Max said.
"Hi."
"Where are you going?"
"Walking home." "Not having a car sucks."
"Want a ride?"
"Sure." She got in. Max started to drive.
"Where's your boyfriend?"
