Chapter 21

At the same time of Max's arrest there was a knock at Darrian's front door. When she opened it a police officer and a woman were standing there.

"Darrian Barrett?" The officer asked.

"Yes."

"I'm officer Porter." "This is Sally Anderson." "She's a social worker with Child Protective Services." "She needs to interview Kaylie and check out your home to make sure Kaylie is being properly cared for." "I need to talk to you."

"What is this about?"

"We received an anonymous phone call stating your fiancée Max Friedman is sexually molesting your daughter."

"What?" She said shocked. "Max would never do that." "I'll do whatever I have to do to clear this up." They went inside.

The officer sat down with Darrian in the living room and Sally checked the cabinets in the kitchen.

"The caller reported that Max did the same thing to you." Officer Porter said.

"That is not the case at all." "I was seventeen the first time we were dating." "He never forced me, ever."

They all went upstairs to Kaylie's room.

"Kaylie this is Miss Anderson." Darrian said. "She needs to ask you some questions."

"About what?"

"Max."

"Is he alright?"

"He's fine."

"Hi Kaylie." Sally said.

"Hi."

"Do like Max?"

"Yes."

"What do you and Max do together?"

"We color, we play."

"Do you know the difference between good touching and bad touching?"

"Yeah." "Mommy says no one should ever touch my private areas."

"Has Max ever touched them?"

"No." "Max loves me." "He's my real daddy."

Max was at the police station in an interrogation room. His lawyer just arrived.

"You can go now." His lawyer said. "You're not allowed to go home until the investigation is over."

"This is horeshit." "Look into Greg Milner." "He's behind this, I know it."
