Chapter 23

A half hour later Max's phone rang again. He picked it up immediately.

"Hello?" He said.

"You need to come home now Max." Kyle said. He sniffled.

"What's wrong Kyle?"

"Darrian's dead."

"What?" He said shocked. "What happened?"

"Someone stabbed her to death."

"It was Greg." "Tell them to look into Greg." "Oh god, where's Kaylie?"

"She's alright, she's with Maria."

"Does she know yet?" Max asked starting to cry a little.

"No."

"I want to tell her."

"Ok."

The coroner discovered that Darrian had been stabbed a total of fifty times in the chest and stomach. She had defensive wounds all over her hands. As well as skin cells under both sets of fingernails.

"You need to go question Greg now." Kyle told one of the police officers.

"We don't even know if it's him yet?"

"You don't understand." "He has a pilot's license and his own plane."

By the time the police got to Greg's place all of his things were gone.

Max went and picked up Kaylie. They had to go to a hotel because the house was still a crime scene. They sat down on the couch.

"Where's mommy?" Kaylie asked. "Why are we here?"

"Kaylie, your mommy got hurt and she died."

"What?" She said shocked. "What happened to her?"

"She was stabbed."

"No." She started to cry. Max hugged her.

"It's ok." "Ssh." "It's ok."

Great got in his place. He had deep scratches on both sides of his face. He took off.
