Chapter 17

The next afternoon Kaylie was with friends. Max had just come back from picking up a pregnancy test. He and Darrian were in their bedroom. She was about to go take the test.

"If you are pregnant, we're keeping it right?" Max asked.

"Absolutely."

Darrian went and took the test. She brought it into the bedroom with her as they awaited the results.

"Be honest, what do you want the result to be?" Darrian asked.

"Positive." "I want a baby with you."

"I want it to be positive too."

It was time to check it. They both looked down to check it. It was positive.

"Oh my god." She said happily.

"Come here." They hugged and kissed. "I'm so happy."

"So am I."

"I'll be a good father, I promise."

"I know you will." "I love you."

"I love you too."

Later that night Darrian, Max and Kaylie went all in the living room.

"Kaylie, mommy is going to have a baby." Darrian said. "I'm pregnant."

"I want a baby brother." She said excitedly.

The next day the results from 23&Me had come back. Kaylie was upstairs playing with her toys. Darrian checked the results on her laptop.

"Huh?" Darrian said confused.

"What?" Max said about to check his results on his phone.

"In the long lost relative tab it says Kaylie has a hit." She clicked on it. When she did it said.

Max Friedman - Father

"Oh my god." Darrian said shocked. "This says you're Kaylie's father."

"What?" He checked his and it said Kaylie was his daughter.

"I swear I didn't know Max, I swear." "I thought there was a possibility she might be yours ,when I first found out I was pregnant." "When the doctor told me my conception date I thought Kaylie was Greg's." "The doctor must've been wrong."

"I can't believe this." He said with tears in his eyes. "No wonder I love her so much, because she's mine."

"I know it's crazy." She hugged him. She was scared to death as to what Greg's reaction would be.
