The next day, due to her win against USC, both Leah and Gael decided to take Maire out for some ice cream, at the same ice cream shop that Maire and Tobin went to the other day.

"Wait, how did you know that I went to the ice cream shop the other day with Tobin?" said Maire, as she asked Leah.

"Oh because you told me." said Leah

"Uh, no I didn't." said Maire, who later turns to Gael. "Was it you?"

"No." said Gael

"Oh wait." said Leah, as she tries to remember. "Oh wait, it wasn't either of you. It was actually Beth, now I remembered."

"Beth?! I should've known." said Maire, as she stopped right in front of a newsrack, put in a coin, and took out a newspaper from it.

Once the three of them had entered the ice cream shop, they all sat at an empty table. Usually the ice cream shop is busy, but this time it actually wasn't.

"This is such a nice place." said Leah, as she looked around the shop. "It looks like a vintage ice cream parlor."

"Yeah, I know right." said Gael, as he looked around as well.

"Hey Gael, it's nice to see you again." said a man, who was sitting in one of the counter stalls greeting them.

"Hey Mr. Joaquin, it's nice to see you too." said Gael, as he waved at him.

Mr. Joaquin, rang the ball on the counter to inform the waiter that he had more customers in the shop.

"Yes Mr. Joaquin?" said the waiter named Matt who appeared in a jiffy.

Matt was one of the ice cream shop's waiters, there were usually three or four waiters, but because it was a slow day and it was only him, and another waiter was on his break. The nice young man was wearing a white uniform with an apron on.

"You had three customers coming in, and I just wanted to inform you about it when you were in the back." said Mr. Joaquin, pointing with the back of his thumb.

"We'll be,  it's Gael and Maire." said Matt, as he starts to greet them both. "How are you guys doing?"

Both Gael and Maire greet Matt, who was one of his classmates when he was in high school.

"Hey, can I take your order?" said Matt, taking out his notepad.

"Sure," said Gael, who later turns to Leah. "What do you want to order?"

"I'll have a vanilla ice cream cone with some sprinkles on it." said Leah, as the waiter was taking her order. "How about you?"

"I'll have a... strawberry smoothie." said Gael, as he also tells the waiter.

Gael later turns to Maire.

"And she will have the kids' meal." said Gael, as he joked, almost making Leah laugh as well.

"You are so rude." said Leah, as she playfully smacks Gael on the arm.

"Hey, it was just a joke. I really didn't mean it, I just wanted to see if she was paying attention." said Gael, as he and Leah both turned to Maire who was looking at the newspaper.

"Hm, I guess she wasn't paying any attention." said Leah, as she hummed.

"Matt, I was just kidding about the order." said Gael, as he tells the waiter.

"Yeah, I kinda figured that one out." said Matt, as he chuckled. "It's the usual for her right?"

"Yeah." said Gael, as Matt went back to the counter to prepare their order.
