Goal!: The Final Chapter!

Chapter 19

A couple of hours later...

After her, Gael, Diego, Aurora, Buddy, and Axel, were all well rested, Maire decides to head to the park along with Axel and Buddy in where she finds the rest of the team.

"Buddy, you're going to love the girls." said Maire, as she tells him. "Isn't that right Axel?"

Axel barks agreeing with Maire.

"Yep, you said it." said Maire, as she chuckles. "Oh look, there they are now."

The girls were gathered around in the park's walkway, for their morning laps. Khole, who was looking around, spotted Maire from afar along with Axel and the new puppy.

"FIVE'S BACK!!!" yelled Khole, as she raced towards Maire, with the other girls doing the same.

"Uh oh." said Maire, as she braced for impact.

The girls (except for Ramona, Zenni, Maya, June, Ellery, and North), hug Maire while also dogpiling on her.

"Ooh, that's going to leave a mark." said North, as she tells Ellery, Maya, June, Zenni, and Ramona. 

"And she just got back from her recovery." said June

"Alright girls!" said Coach Abby, as she and Coach Mica, jogged towards them before separating them from Maire.

"Do you really want Maire to spend another few weeks in Europe for therapy treatment again?" said Coach Mica, as she told them while some of the girls who were still on Maire shook their heads. "Then get off her!"

"It's good to have you back, Maire." said Coach Abby, as she smiles.

"Yeah." said Coach Mica, as she also smiles. "Here, let me give you a hug as a welcome back."

"Sure." said Maire, as she lets Coach Mica hug her.

Coach Abby later turns to the rest of the girls, while Coach Mica stops hugging Maire..

"Girls, one lap on the walkway. Go!" said Coach Abby, as she ordered the girls to run a lap.

"Seriously one lap on the walkway." said Nyla, as she started to whine.

"Hey look on the bright side, at least it's one lap instead of four." said Brynn, reminding Nyla that they usually take one lap.

"Right..." said Nyla, as she finally remembers that they usually run four laps. "Nevermind, one's fine."

The girls finally start their lap from the starting line, with Coach Abby keeping track of them.   

Just then, a ball is kicked through Maire's legs (nutmegging her), as Maire turns she finds Tobin standing a few feet behind her.

"Tobin!" said Maire, as she called out Tobin's name.

"Hey Five." said Tobin, as she runs towards Maire.

"Uh oh, yikes not again!" said Maire, as she flinched after thinking that Tobin was going to tackle her down like the other girls did.

Tobin tricks Maire while thinking that she was going to tackle her, but instead she stopped right in front of Maire, and tapped on her shoulder. Maire turns and sees Tobin grinning.

"Gotcha didn't I." said Tobin, playfully.

"Heh, heh. Yeah." said Maire, as she chuckles nervously. 

Tobin side hugs Maire as a warm welcome.

"Welcome back, you and I have a lot to talk about." said Tobin

Moments later...

"So, Tobin... About Christen, have you ever talked to her." said Maire, as she questioned Tobin. "After I left for Europe, I sort of lost touch with her."

Tobin sighs.

"I lot have been happening since you left." said Tobin, as she admits. "I know Christen really wanted you to play for the Royals alongside her, but since you were Coach Sloan's main victim, the coach from the Utah Royals didn't want you to be part of the Royals even if you recover from your injury."

"So either way, I wouldn't be accepted." said Maire

"Mm hm." said Tobin, as she hummed while nodding. "The Utah Royals also drafted Christen to a new team called Louisville F.C, meaning that either way, you still wouldn't play along with Christen even if you wanted to play for the new team."

"Oh," said Maire, as she looks at Tobin. "So are you still playing for the Thorns?"

"Yep." said Tobin, as she looks around and finds Axel and Buddy standing next to Them. "Oh well I see you have a new member at your side."

Tobin smiles at Axel and at Buddy, and waves at them.

"Huh?" said Maire, forgetting that she hasn't introduced Buddy to the team and Tobin yet. "Oh right."

Coach Abby, Coach Mica, and the girls gathered around Maire, Tobin, Axel, and Buddy.

"Team and Tobin, this here is Buddy! Buddy, these are the girls that I was telling you about!" said Maire, as she introduces Buddy to the team and Tobin. "And well, you girls already know Axel!"

Tobin kneels down and picks Buddy up.

"Aww, he's so cute!" said some of the girls, as they all gathered around Tobin and Buddy, while starting to pet him.

"Yeah, but still my favorite nephew is Axel." said Khole, as she winked at Axel who wagged his tail.

"So, the name of our new nephew is Buddy. No offense but the name Buddy sounds like a really funny name for a puppy." said Nora, as she joked.

"Well, To be honest... Buddy's real name isn't Buddy, rather than Federico Uno Hernandez." said Maire, revealing to them what exactly Buddy's real name is. "Since either one of us could come up with a good name for him."

"Sooo Buddy has two names?" said Brittany, who seemed puzzled.

"Kinda, well if you count his nickname name." said Maire

"So, Three." said Tobin, as she holds Buddy like a baby.

"Just like his uncle Three." said Khole, as she joked.

"But I think he actually has four," said Clara, as she thought.

"Why do you say that?" said Addison, as she asked her.

"If you count his last name," said Clara, with a grin.

"Oh right." said Gia, with a giggle.

"All in favor of calling Buddy by his nickname, say I!" said Clara, as she tells the girls.

"I!" said the girls, as they all raised their hands.

"Thanks, but I'll just call him Uno. Because it suits him." said Tobin, still holding Uno in her arms.

"Well then it's settled." said Coach Abby, as she, Coach Mica, along with Tobin and the girls welcome Maire back with the Ironheart Knight's new chant.

Coach Mica later takes the rest of the girls to do their drills on the Baseball field, while Coach Abby stays back with Tobin, Maire, Axel, and Buddy.

"Maire, starting tomorrow you'll be conditioning with Tobin, in order to get back on your feet." said Coach Abby, as she explains to her. "Since you missed playing while you were injured. Coach Mica has looked up some training exercises that the two of them could do. So what do you say?" 

"Sure. Count me in." said Maire, who accepted.

"Great! Come now, let's see how the girls are doing." said Coach Abby, as Tobin finally sets down Buddy.
