Goal!: The Final Chapter!

Chapter 32

The next day, The Ironheart Knights played against the USC Girls Soccer Team.

The Ironheart Knights finally receive their jerseys, and since Maire's number #0 wasn't approved to be used, Maire has no choice but to switch to another number, which was number #17.

"That's Tobin's number." said Nora

"It was the only one left," said Maire, as she looked at Nora. "It was the only number that wasn't picked by any of the girls."

"Yeah, in which you're lucky, because you got Tobin's number." said Nora, with a snort. "Tobin's going to be proud."

"She can be if she wants to, but I didn't agree to wear this number because of Tobin's jersey number." said Maire, while Nora gave her a puzzled look. "When I think of this number, I don't think of Tobin."

"Oh, then who do you think about?" said Nora, asking Maire. "Jace?"

"No, my father." said Maire, as she admits. "I consider him as my idol."

Nora gave Maire a smile.

"Aww... That's sweet of you." said Nora, as she remembers the reason why she also wears her jersey number and it was for her father.

"Wait, are you crying?" said Maire, as she sees a tear coming out of Nora's eye.

"What? Me? No? It's just that they're making hot dogs on the other side of the stands and the smoke is coming over here.

Maire pats Nora on her back, while Nora rubs her eyes.

After Coach Abby blew her whistle, the girls huddled on their side of the sideline.

The team's new jersey colors are: Dark gray with Aqua Blue shoulder stripes. And Black and Aqua Blue short stripes to the knees. Their numbers were also in Aqua Blue colors.

While in the park's baseball field, the girls are listening to Coach Abby's speech. After that, they finally head into the field where they meet up with some of the USC girls players on the team. Nora is put in as the starter goalie, and is hype up since she is playing against her dream University, USC.

"Let's do this." said Nora, as she clapped her hands in her soccer goalie gloves together.

Meanwhile, in the dugout Khole, Maya, and Gia, are commentating on the team's bench.

"Alright! The game is almost about to begin, and we can tell that Nora is really excited to play against USC." said Khole, pretending to hold a mic, with Maya and Gia doing the same.

"But why is she excited to play against them?" said Gia, with a confused look on her face. "I thought she was a fan of them?"

"Wait, she's a fan of USC? I thought she was a fan of UCLA?" said Maya, looking more confused than Gia.

"Nora is a fan of USC, because that's where her dad went." said Khole, as she admits to both of them. "And ever since then, she's been wanting to go there."

Meanwhile, Ramona who was sitting on the seat close to Maya, snorts.

"Yeah, well either way USC is going down either way." said Ramona, as she smirks. "UCLA is way better, they'll claw up the trojans and beat them easily."

"Is that so? Yeah well remember when you said that UCLA was going to beat us in that soccer game, even though they never got a chance to do so, because we beat them 4 - 2. '' said Khole, roasting Ramona in the process. "That and you scored against them in the 3rd goal."

"I um..." said Ramona, blushing after realizing her mistake, making Maya and Gia giggle.

"Dang Ramona, she got you good!" said Maya, out loud while laughing.

Ramona huffed, and sat back in her seat.

Moments later, during the game... A USC player tried to score against the Knights, however Nora blocked her shot. Nora later kicks the ball to Addison who gets it. Addison, after seeing that two USC players were coming her way, passes the ball to Brynn, who later passes it to Brooke. Brooke dribbles the ball, finally passing it to Maire. Maire scores a goal.

"Yes! Maire scored a goal!" said Khole, as she cheered.

Minutes later, another USC player tries to score a goal from half field, however Nora yet again blocks the ball from entering the goal.

"Another save by Nora!" said Maya, as she stood up from her seat only to be sat down by Ramona.

"Sit your butt down, I can't see." said Ramona

Back on the soccer field, a USC player who was close to the goal area looks at Nora.

"Not bad." said the USC soccer player, with a surprised smile on her face.

"Thanks." said Nora

"I know I'm not really supposed to talk to competition, that was an amazing save." said the USC soccer player, before walking to her position.

Meanwhile, in the dugouts...

"Looks like Nora is really fired up." said Coach Abby, as she tells Coach Mica.

"Well, that's what happens when you're playing against your dream University." said Coach Mica

"You said it." said Coach Abby, as she crossed her arms.

Meanwhile back on the field...

Nyla scores a goal, after getting an assist by Reese. The ref later blows the whistle for Half time.

"Alright, halftime!" said Maya, as she exclaims from her seat.

Nora, Maire, and the other Knight players were congratulating Nyla on scoring a goal, while walking back into the dugout.

"Alright team huddle up!" said Coach Abby, as she and the rest of the players stood up from their seat meeting with the other players who were on the field.

Moments later, after half time. Maire is subbed out of the field along with Reese, Addison, and Brynn, in which Khole, Maya, Ramona, and Sienna take their place.

"Maire take the mic." said Maya, supposedly handing her an invisible mic.

"Thanks Maya." said Maire, playing along with Maya's trick.

After the sub-ins, another USC player tries to score a goal into the Knight's goal, however Nora even blocks her shot as well even though it was a fast one, even though Alaia is the only one who knows how to do that.

"Woah!" said the rest of the team in the dugout.

"Well, there you have it folks! Nora is using the same techniques that Alaia is using." said Maire, talking to the invisible mic. "Alaia, any questions?"

"I taught her that trick." said Alaia, a light smile.

"I hope y'all are recording this! Because Alaia just smiled!" said Nyla, as she also pretended that she had an invisible mic as well. "Addison!"

"Got it." said Addison

Meanwhile, back on the field...

Nora passes the ball to Maya, who passes it to Khole, who later kicks the ball to Sienna who scores.

As the USC goalie passes the ball to one of her teammates, Ramona takes the ball away from her, and dribbles it to the goal area. The USC goalie tries to stop Ramona from scoring a goal, however fails after diving in too late. Ramona scores a goal.

"Score!" said Khole, cheering.

"Take that Trojans!" said Ramona, as she yelled.

Moments later, with just minutes to spare until the game ends, Brooke is subbed out by Clara. Once the goalie from USC finally kicks the ball to the other side, Khole takes the ball and kicks it to Hadley, who dribbles it and kicks it over to Clara who scores.

The Ironheart Knights win 5 - 0 as the game ends.
