Goal!: The Final Chapter!

Chapter 27

As the meeting ends with the Head Manager closing the zoom meeting and leaving the library's meeting room, without any time to lose.

Coach Abby turns to Coach Mica.

"You were right." said Coach Abby, admitting that Coach Mica was right. "Never expect the unexpected."

"Yeah well, at least there's always plan B." said Coach Mica

The girls are distraught, in which Coach Jill tells them to keep their hopes up while patting each one on the back.

"Thanks Coach Jill, that means a lot." said Addison

"Well hate to be a bummer, but the board member's words were only for you girls." said Ramona, proudly. "And not us new players, since we weren't involved during Coach Sloan's accidents and abusements."

Coach Abby holds up a copy of the Head Manager's report, and reads it aloud on a paragraph containing the information that Ramona needed to hear.

"According to the Head Manager, players Ramona Jimenez, Maya Alonso, June Knight, Ellery Carter, Zenni Wilson, and North Mendoza, will also be taken out as well, since they were also assigned to the U-20 Team as well." said Coach Abby, while reading the report.

Ramona's face dropped while Maya, June, Ellery, and North were already upset with the other players.

After hearing this from Coach Abby, Zenni walks over to where Coach Abby was.

"What? No you're joking, it doesn't say that." said Zenni, denying that the report doesn't actually say that, while looking at Coach Abby. "I want to see the report."

Coach Abby, hands Zenni the copy of the report, in which Zenni starts to read it.

After realizing that Coach Abby was right all along, and that she and the other new players were taken out of the U-20 WNT, Zenni started to laugh hysterically.

"T-That's funny." said Zenni, continuing to laugh hysterically.

Coach Mica, Coach Abby, and the rest of the players knew that Zenni wasn't alright, and that she was upset, even though Zenni tried to hide it.

"Uh Zenni, are you okay?" said Maya, asking her.

"Me? I'm fine, I mean look at me! Ha! Ha! Ha!" said Zenni, as she laughed out loud while tears started to fall from her cheeks, revealing to everyone that she was crying. "Ha! Ha!"

Zenni started to cry loudly while cheeks started to fall from her cheeks.

Maya, June, Ellery, and North, quickly gathered around Zenni consoling her.

"There, there Zenni." said Ellery, as she pulls Zenni into a hug.

"Yeah, it's going to be okay," said June, as she added.

Maya and North both started to pat Zenni on the back gently, as she continued to cry. Zenni, watched as the other girls were consoling each other. In which something inside Zenni snapped as she started to watch the girls with hate.

"You! Former U-20 girl's team, I blame you" said Zenni as she snapped. "I blame you for ruining our chances of playing with the National Team!"

"Hey, what are you talking about?" said Sienna, as she raised an eyebrow while starting to argue with Zenni. "It wasn't our fault. That, and we didn't know that the board was going to take you girls out as well!"

Zenni immediately stopped hugging June, and turned to face Sienna. Nyla, who was standing behind Sienna, backed Sienna up in her argument with Zenni. Just then Scarlet, Addison, Brittany, and Brooklyn, started to get into the argument as well. Soon as the argument started to grow loudly, both Coach Abby and Coach Mica stepped into the argument and tried to calm things down.

Meanwhile Maire on the other hand walks out of the library, and sits on a park's bench. Little did Maire know that she was being followed by June, Khole, Nora, Clara, Maya, and Hadley, Hadley admits to Maire that both June and Maya want to talk to them.

The girls headed to an empty picnic table and sat down.

"Where do we start?" said June, asking them.

"From the beginning, please." said Hadley

June and Maya nod.

"Girls, the reason why the Head Manager and the Board decided to take them out along with them was because they were Coach Sloan's first victims." said June, admitting to them the truth. "Coach Sloan had abused us during the year that she was coaching for our team."

"What?!" said Khole, Nora, Clara, and Maire, as they gasped much to their surprise.

"It's true,  Ramona, June, Ellery, Zenni, North, and I, were all separated from their teams." said Maya, as she admits. "Since Coach Sloan lashed them out if we would miss a touch, pass, or even lose a game."

Both June and Maya show their past scars to Khole, Nora, Clara, and Maire. After hearing a twig snap from behind them, the girls turned only to find Tobin hearing their conversation.

"Aren't you tired of listening to other people's conversations behind their backs?" said Maire, telling Tobin, who grins sheepishly.

"Where's the fun in that?" said Tobin, as she replied while sitting in between Maire and Khole uninvited.

"Chismosa." said Nora, with a chuckle.

"Hey Tobin, what's wrong? Because, I assume that you're here for a reason." said Clara

"Yeah, and not being a total chismosa." said Nora

"I'm not trying to be a gossip girl, well if that's what you're referring to." said Tobin, as she admits. "Well, maybe... Anyways, Zenni had just confessed to us about what happened in their past."

"We know." said the girls, at once.

"Oh, well nevermind then." said Tobin

"Yeah, anything else?" said Nora, as she asked Tobin.

"Yeah, Coach Abby wants you girls back in the meeting room." said Tobin

"Like now?" said Khole, asking Tobin.

"Yes, that's why she sended me," said Tobin, as she looked at the girls.

"Then, let's go." said Clara, as she and the other girls along with Tobin stood up from their seats.

Moments later, in the meeting room...

Coach Abby admits to the team that just because the program decided to cut them from the U-20 WNT, doesn't actually mean that their dream of being in the NWSL is over.

"You girls are still a team, and we're all on this together." said Coach Abby, as she continues. "It doesn't matter what we'll face, because if we do then we are going to face it together."

"Yes, we're more than just a team, we're also a family." said Coach Mica

Just then, Alaia who has been gone in the past months due to finally reuniting with her parents thanks to Coach Mica and Coach Abby along with wearing the same formal wear that Maire is wearing but in Khaki's color, enters the room.

"Because that's what we are, a family." said Alaia, standing in between Coach Abby and Coach Mica.

The girls cheerfully hug Alaia warmfully.

"Aw yeah, not only do we have Five back on the team, but also The Queen Goalkeeper herself Alaia!!!" said Nora, as she yelled out.

"Uh huh." said Alaia, while nodding. "Or sure, we're back but better than ever."
