Chapter 9

We were now in the cave, I learned that the grounder's name was Lincon.

I had just explained to them how we knew each other. "So why did you stab her?" Octavia asked him.

"I didn't know it was her, I just stabbed the person closest to me. I'm sorry, Cassie. If I knew it was you, I never would've attacked." He apologises, for such a buff, scary looking man, he sure was nice.

"No worries, I understand." I said, smiling at him, to which he awkwardly reciprocated.

"So then why is Finn here?" Octavia's second question.

"This was all his idea." I said.

"What is it?" Lincon asked

"You blew this when your people were hunting us." He said, holding up the foghorn."You saved our lives. I have to believe there's more like you." He said with hope.

"I almost killed one of your own." Lincon said.

"And we tortured you. If the two of you can get along, then maybe there's hope. Learn from history instead of repeating it, right?" Finn said.

"Wait, where's Eliyas?" I asked, I hadn't been able to see him for a whole week, I wasn't allowed out, and whenever I tried to sneak out, Finn would catch me.

"I don't know." He said, I looked at him confused, "Probably in his cave. Ever since he found out I stabbed you, he wouldn't talk to me. I hardly see him leave his cave."

"Don't worry, I'll talk to him, Lincon." He nodded. I went towards the cave exit before Finn held my wrist.

"Stay safe. I'll meet you back at camp." He said, I nodded.

I made my way out of the cave. I felt as if someone was watching me. It was dark, even if someone was, I wouldn't have known. Instead of acting on the thought, I quickly made my way over to Eliyas' cave. I hopped in quietly with the intention to scare him. I saw him sorting out a makeshift shelf. He was shirtless, and man, was it a sight to see. I could see every muscle of his flex as he moved.

I crept towards him about to jump on his back when he tackled me, elbowing me in the stomach. "Oh fuck." I said in pain. He looked toward me, his eyes softened.

He immediately grabbed me and hugged me, I could feel his skin directly on me, it was comforting. "You're alive." He sighed into my hair. "I'm so sorry, a solider is always prepared." He justified himself making me laugh. His hug was so powerful that he had moved us near the entrance of the cave against a wall.

"How are you?" He asked, looking down at me.

"I'm fine." I comforted him.

"I'm glad you're alright." He kissed the top of my head.

"About that, I heard from Lincon that you're not speaking." I said, leaning my chin on his chest.

"When I found out he stabbed you. I was so angry. I was so sure you would die from the poison... Cassie, I'm so glad I met you."

"I'm even more glad that I met you. But I've forgiven Lincon and I was the one who was stabbed. He's your best friend, you have to forgive him. He didn't know it was me, Eliyas."

"Okay, okay. I'll speak to him." He said. "Can I see it?" He asked me, referring to my stab wound.

"No, it's so hideous." I said gripping onto my shirt, repulsed by the wound on my skin.

"I don't care, Cassie, please." His eyes pleaded. He was too cute, I had to give in.

"Fine." I sighed, making him smile.
