We got to the gate, and they opened it after seeing our arrival. I rode in, one of Jasper's arms gripping onto me, his other one on his wound. Mel went to her village, warning trikru. Abby rushed towards us, followed by soldiers. "Jasper's hurt!" I said.
She rushed over, inspecting the wound, "What happened?" She asked.
"Ice nation." Octavia answered.
"Get him to medical." Abby commanded, me and Jackson supported him from either side and helped him rush to medical. Octavia left to tend to the horses.
"You're going to be okay, Jasper, I promise." I said to him.
"Don't make promises you can't keep, Cassie." He said, partially wheezing.
"Save your voice." I said. As we finally made it to medical, I rushed him over to the bed. Jules was there.
"What happened?" She looked perplexed at his state and began getting out all sorts of equipment.
"A grounder slashed his throat." I said. She took off the bandage and inspected it, visibly wincing.
"This won't be too bad." She said before beginning whatever she was going to do on Jasper.
I sat beside him the entire time. He didn't even wince once. He wasn't even sedated. She finished with the needle and thread and began patching him up. "You're all done, but you need to stay here and rest." Jules said.
He did the completely opposite, quickly standing up and walking out, regardless of Jules and I protesting. I got up from my chair and followed him, "Jasper, get back here!" I saw Abby stop him.
"He hasn't been discharged." I said.
"I'm fine." Jasper complained.
"He's not fine—" I began.
"Shut up, Cassie." He interrupted, making me roll his eyes.
"Ok, ok. Enough. If you promise to come back in the morning, I will examine you then. Okay?" Abby compromised.
"You're just going to let him go?" Raven asked.
Jasper walked away, I was about to follow him, and Abby stopped me. "You wait here." I had no choice but to obey. Abby dismissed Lincon.
"Abby, we have 16 patients, including 4 contraceptive implant removals." Jackson complained because she was always busy. He sighed and gave up after she gave him a death glare.
"Cassie." She said, looking at me, I knew what this was about. The implant removal. I had postponed it for almost a year. I don't know why. The thought of it just made me nervous. Everyone else had done it, so I had no excuses now. "Cassie, you need to get that implant removed. Everyone's almost done."
"Okay, okay." I said.
"Go to Jules, I've shown her how to do it. She can do it for you." She instructed, I nodded and left.
I went back into the med bay and sighed in frustration, "What is it, Cassie?" Jules asked me.
"Abby said you need to remove my implant." I said hesitantly. She finally turned to face me and nodded. She washed her hands and got out her tools, placing them beside me.
