My father and I walked further behind Bellamy and Lincon. "So, are you going to tell me the story of how everything happened?" I asked my father after telling him most of my own story.

"Where do I start from?" He said.

"The beggining, the moment the rocket touched the ground." I suggested.

"Well, after using the radiation meter, I realised that we had the ability to survive on land. I thought we were the only people on the ground, so I made a home. With tents. I was going to radio the ark, but it got destroyed on the way down." He started.

"One day, Izzy decided to wander off. I went to look for her with my handmade weapons. I found her with a man and a horse. He was the previous commander."

"Was he nice?" I asked.

"Yes, very. He'd visit us every few days, then he found out that we had no one and we were fending for ourselves. He offered us to join the trikru. Because we were close with the commanders and your sisters were so young, people treated them like they were princesses." He said. It seems like they managed to actually live a good life.

"The old commander and Lexa were the only ones who knew where we really came from. If anyone else knew, we would've been killed. But they allowed us to train beside them and live beside them." He said.

"And what if anyone were to find out now?" I asked.

"I'm not so sure, but we spent 10 years gaining everyone's trust and respect, I'm not so sure where I'd stand." He said, confound. "Enough about me, let's talk about your boyfriend." He said, eying Bellamy. "I've been gone for ten years, and my daughter has already found another man to look after her." He fake sobbed.

"Don't be dramatic, dad. Have you guys spoken yet?" I asked. He shook his head, "I'm not surprised. He's totally scared of you."

"What, that's ridiculous, I'm so nice." He said.

"A big scary man with a mask happens to be his girlfriend's father. What did you expect?" I said, "Plu,  it's not like you're going to be nice to him until you think he's worthy? Isn't it?"

"How did you know?" He asked.

"You're my father." I smiled.

"Think of this as a test. You come out of that mountain unscathed, I'll give him the respect he deserves." I nodded at his suggestion.

"Even if I don't, he's already done so much for me." I said.

"Well, not around me." My dad pointed out, "Do you love him?" I felt cornered, I hadn't thought about that, I looked at the back of Bellamy's head, wondering about how I felt for this man. No one's made me as happy as he has. Every decision I make is affected by him. He makes me feel... loved.

He turned around, looking at me, I think he sensed me looking at him. He raised his eyebrows and mouthed the word  'Okay?' I nodded and smiled, to which he just smiled back and turned around to continue talking with Lincon.

"I don't know, maybe." I said

"You were willing to die for him, Cassie." My dad said.

"It's just— What if he doesn't love me? What if one of us dies and has to live knowing the person you love is dead." I said.

"Cassie, if everything you've told me is true, then that boy down there," He gestured to Bellamy, "is very much in love with you." He said, making me smile, "Isn't that exactly what he said? He was too scared to get in a relationship with you because he didn't want to watch you die?" I nodded.
