I had made my way to the level seven command centre, watching Lucy, Raven, and Sinclair try to come up with a way to launch the missiles. They were talking, but everything they said came out as a blur. I felt hot, and my forehead was sweating, I was told that was another side effect.  "I'm going to the president's office. See if we'll find a code there." Lucy said.

"And I'm going on a walk." I said, maybe to walk of this horrible feeling, I was being useless anyway. I got off my chair and walked around level seven.

I found the exit door, I think getting some fresh air would be a good idea. I left the mountain. It was the dead of night. I was hot and bothered, so I decided to walk up the mountain, the cold breeze cooling me down.

I kept walking further up the mountain until I found the massive vault door to level one. I haven't been on this level as much, and I decided to try my best to open it. I shoved it wide open. This hallway had a high ceiling. But it was bare. I was about to step inside when I suddenly felt the ground begin to shake, a loud grumbling sound echoed.

I looked further into the mountain, and a red fire came travelling towards me at a rapid speed. I froze for a second. It was some sort of explosion. I turned around to run, but the pressure of the explosion sent me flying away.

I landed on the ground, and it began to turn black as I slowly turned unconscious.

I woke up, I'm guessing a few minutes had passed. I sat up, and the hallway was engulfed in flames, black smoke overtaking the air, making me cough. I sat there processing what had happened, how did this even happen, did the missiles back fire? I looked down the mountain.

A person would've been too small to see, I just wanted to know if anyone had survived. If Raven or Lucy were okay. Car lights began to roll in. Had Bellamy returned? Were there survivors? I was confused.

I tried getting up, but my legs were too weak. I looked back down, I didn't know if I was seeing things, but there were horses. I grabbed my torch, shining it on the brightest setting and waving it around to grab anyones attention. I couldn't shout. My throat had dried up.

It didn't work, so I just threw the torch down the mountain and waited. Eventually, the horses had made their way up the mountain. Within a few minutes, I could see the faces. It was my family.

"Dad." I said in confusion. He jumped off his horse, running up to me. He engulfed me into a tight hug.

"Cassie." He sighed in relief.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Mount weather was the trap, Echo was trying to remove the personell from the mountain. An assassin came and set off a self-destruct sequence." He said, it took me a while to process it.

"Survivors?" I asked in hope.

"Up till now, it was just Raven and Sinclair. Everyone thought you were dead, Cassie." He said, hugging me again.

"Where's Lucy?" I asked.

"She's gone." Amelie said, coming off her horse. I froze, Lucy was gone? She couldn't be gone. I saw her a few minutes ago. I was in disbelief. Before I knew it, tears were streaming down my face.

"No." I said quietly, I felt Mel wrap her arms around me and Izzy. "Help me up." I said, my body was still so sore. My dad helped me onto my feet as I leant on him. I saw a car coming up the mountain and stopped behind the horses, the doors opened, out came Bellamy and Kane.

Bellamy's eyes were bloodshot, his eyes were puffy, and tears stained his cheeks, "Cassie." His eyes lit up when he saw me as he ran up to me. He was overcome with relief and panted in exhaustion. My family had moved out of the way for him.
